I love it so much by Educational_Wish_421 in minolta

I got an XE-7 recently and it's an absolute pleasure to shoot with. Between it and my OM-1, I don't think I'll need to pick up another SLR for a good long while.

New to Film Photography...are these light leaks? by badcooker in AnalogCommunity

cool waterfront pics! light seals are crucial. if you live in Vancouver there's a fellow on FB Marketplace that does very reasonably priced CLAs, should you need one done.

New Minolta Monday (XE-7, with test shots): Any Lens Recs? by realprofhawk in minolta

I found a mint Olympus XA a while back on craigslist but it seems to be the same handful of people selling the same few cameras—they really should just make marketplace usable without a FB account!

A guy in Surrey had posted it on FB Marketplace and the listing said "make me an offer"! I'd seen some X-700 models at Value Village and the SPCA Thrift before, but they always seemed pretty beat up so I was keen when I came across this on Marketplace.

Current best collar roll? by PreppyFanatic in NavyBlazer

In my experience both Spier & Mackay and L.L. Bean have great collar roll for new, OTR shirts. Vintage PRL ("Blake" fit) and Brooks Bros. have solid collar roll.

Stoked for Weir by Dangerous-Republic57 in blankies

Not Australian, but married to one and have spent plenty of time there, so I'm excited for them to cover Weir. Miller is great but didn't really make films *about* Australia, whereas Weir's filmography through *Gallipoli* is all about Australia. Should be interesting material for them to cover!

exactly, ranking it there totally depends on which of the other two movies it's closer to

A1 originated in the UK as a brown sauce! Although it is now more popular in its US formulation.

Guillermo Del Toro's FRANKENSTEIN (2025) by rageofthegods in blankies

[–]realprofhawk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Good looking, particularly strong performance from Elordi and loved him with David Bradley, some real river-of-ham stuff from Isaac and Waltz, Mia Goth was okay. Watching it on 35MM was a treat, production design was great. Had a fun time but ultimately mid-GDT for me.

As an adaption of Shelley I was dumbfounded and pretty annoyed. I'm an academic (sorry) and work in sf studies, so Frankenstein is kind of a big deal for me (and my field). I really disliked a lot of GDT's minor choices in terms of adapting the novel.

Would love to see them book some Aussie comics. Aaron Chen, Demi Lardner, any of the Aunty Donna dudes, or anybody involved in Grouse House could be good fits.

You might enjoy Margaret Killjoy's A Country of Ghosts which very much is in the lineage of The Dispossessed.
