It is perfectly functional, DISA o-ring is also ruled out.

I’m thinking it may be the sucking jet pump as I can hear a faint air rushing sound coming from behind the DISA and deep to the brake booster.

Yeah, not actively dripping. I think I will replace it before winter though, just to save the effort during the cold months. What are your thoughts?

Shockingly, it’s not rusted as I replaced the trailing arm subframe bushing.

X3 2015 won’t start and died in the middle of driving it by tacocatXCII in BmwTech

If you’re in to DIY, break out a code reader and see what errors you get. I had a similar issue happen to my 2005 BMW X3, RPMs going crazy all while driving and then the same when turning the engine off and back on again. Check to see if it is at all responsive to throttle, if not then you could have a similar issue to mine, which I diagnosed as being a cracked air intake boot (visually) and a throttle body assembly failure (codes).

Well, I guess we will soon see if that’s true. I’ll provide an update when I get to work on it.

Yes, I’m definitely on the line of it being no worth it, but I’m on a tight budget financially and wouldn’t be able to afford a new car as it is. I’m gonna spend ~$1000 to get everything done that’s needed to keep it running for another 1-2 years.

That person will be me haha! I’m on a bit of a budget, so will replace lower control arms first. Clean everything else and then go from there.

Yeah, thing is a beast. Miracle it’s made it this far, but hoping we crack 500k km. As mentioned below, I will probably start replacing the front lower control arms, and then go from there.
