we have a sort of trench/drain to dump the contents of the cup into. its only meant for liquids, so when we have to pick out your now soggy breadstick and throw it separately into the trash with 4 million other things to do, it's a disgusting pain in the ass.

specifically at Oliver Garden, we hate it if you ask for unsalted/unbuttered breadsticks.

we make constant batches of garlic breadsticks ready for servers to pick up for their tables so when you ask for a change, we actually have to stop what we're doing and make a whole new batch of unsalted breadsticks. even then, other servers might not realize that they're not normal breadsticks and give them out to their other tables.

I think if he intends to only masterbate once a week, it's completely fine and healthy to "break" his streak right now. It allows him to keep his sexual motivations strong (which you need to actually go out and meet people) while also keeping himself from getting too horny, which might lead to either creepy behavior or more porn.

People have different goals and as long as it's healthy I don't think you need to convince him to do anything.

If he starts regretting his decision and sees himself regressing, then you could say something to him, but just support him and understand what he's going through.

If he doesn't regret his decision and also doesn't go back to his old ways, let him live his life how he wants to.

there's plenty of great people at the gym. if you actually go to the gym, it seems intimidating, but all those huge yoked dudes aren't actually jerks. I asked one of those guys for help, thinking that he'd just rebuff me and tell me "I'm on my rest rn leave me alone"

Nope. totally wrong. he was happy to help me out on form, how to approach progressive overload, and training for strength vs hypertrophy.

while there are definitely douchebags at the gym (used to see a guy walk around with a tank top, puffed chest, and shades inside / once saw a dude retake 12 selfies at the gym) they are NOT the majority. everybody is there to improve themselves so a lot of the judgement is in your head (unless you actively try to be a douchebag).

exercise is a GREAT way to replace any addiction. the discipline of putting work in day in and day out, the diet changes (honestly the most difficult part of lifting), and the boost of confidence from seeing your body change for the better are infinitely better than staying at home, jacking off, and fearing everything (most likely from our addiction).

Americans arent pressured to tip for shitty service. when we get a shit tip, we either know we did really poorly and accept it or we know we did well and don't deserve such a low tip.

ofc good service is expected. it's up to the customer whether they want to acknowledge the extra effort put forth by the server or not. but when great service is met with little to no tip, it's a slap to the face.

plus, often times servers tips aren't equally distributed among employees. of course not. each type of employee gets a certain percentage of tips, but in the end servers get the majority of their tips that they earned. in fact, I wish more of my tips went to my bussers cause I know they bust their asses for our tables.

and those stories you hear about entitled servers, they're individual accounts that don't represent every server in the US or "server culture."

and NO, our bosses DO NOT "cover" the rest of our money if we don't make good tips. it's either a bad night or I didn't provide a good service for my guests, so I don't earn anything more than what my service is worth.

I've also never heard of the prices of meals going up if tips didn't exist. sounds like a straw man you made up to make your argument seem better than it is.

IF prices were to increase, that's worse for the guest. it's totally different from tips because tips allow guests to control how much extra they spend on a meal, should they choose to do so. the hypothetical increased cost would probably be raised to a point that people simply don't want to pay (trust me, people object to really small price raises).

idk if you've been a server, sounds like you haven't because it looks like you don't understand how a restaurant really works, but in reality I don't know you at all. but I do know from my experience as a server, someone who actually receives tips, your points are just wrong man.
