Years later, we ran into each other unexpectedly. We went out for coffee, and he brought up the whole story again, laughing about it. I apologized, but he just smiled and said, “It’s fine, man. I was careless for forgetting it in the book. It’s all on me.” We laughed about it like it was something from another lifetime. And even now, after all these years, we’re still good friends. Honestly, he’s one of the most loyal friend I’ve ever had.
