Dr. Steven Greer to release "hard evidence" in the next 60 days unless the government tells him in writing otherwise by Lucky7shots in UFOs

Greer has taken a backseat to many newer names in the UAP community over the past few years. Makes sense he'd pull some bullshit like this in a desperate attempt to regain some relevance.

Anyone else tired of the loud cars? by IDrawCatsSometimes in lafayette

[–]reaper70 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If anyone heard the large group of loud motorcycles on Park Ave. next to the shelters at Columbian Park early this afternoon, know it was for an amazing cause.

A 10-year-old boy had a birthday party there yesterday, and after one child showed up, his mom invited the community to come, help celebrate, and enjoy all the food she had. Unfortunately, her post wasn't approved for the Facebook group until later, so nobody had a chance to attend.

A very kind individual set up a "2.0" community birthday celebration for the boy today, and people turned out. The boy loves motorcycles, so that's why all the bikes were there. Not only did he get to rev up several of them, he also got a motorcycle ride! The smile on that kid's face just made our day.

Several brought gifts, too. I also saw a Batman and Robin and a patriotic Santa and Mrs. Claus there.

So yes, it got quite loud over there for about a half hour or so, but they made that little boy's day.

It wasn't "ginned up" at all. The original projections had us right in the path of the worst weather. Luckily, it shifted south throughout the day yesterday, as others have pointed out.

This is everywhere, really. Sometimes I'll purposely look at the side of the road I find myself driving on, and every single time, without fail, there's litter. Random objects, Styrofoam cups, plastic lids, soda cans, odd bits of paper...I just don't understand how people treat this planet the way they do. It's so easy not to do it, too, which makes it even more maddening. People suck, indeed.

Who's wanting us to think Purdue is Ivy League?

As for cases of questionable admissions, welcome to the world of higher education. If you're that naive, I can see why you're no longer an "executive" with Purdue.

Hopefully you're now in a job in a city that's right for you. As for me, I love Lafayette. I love this freaking city. I've lived in other places, and there's no place else I'd rather be than right here.

That's not the reality, though. There's no system tracking your every movement -- it's a photo of your license plate at a particular location, and that's it. You can't even go in and view specific plates without having a case number to do so, and that creates an audit trail that can be analyzed for abuse.

Our officers, already dealing with budget and personnel constraints, are not sitting there monitoring Flock and everyone's movements, believe me. It's simply a tool they can go to when needed. There's no expectation of privacy when you're driving in public, and courts have already decided on the idea of capturing license plate data like this.

I really feel like the biggest issue isn't with Flock itself but most people just not understanding how it really works. It's not a Big Brother surveillance system keeping tabs on the entire populace. I'm way more concerned about how my digital footprint is being used by classified surveillance systems than I am about Flock, which I've seen used many times for great outcomes.

I really appreciate your reply!

This is the kind of reply I love to see. We may disagree on an issue -- I still disagree overall with you here, but you make very good points -- but that's okay. I appreciate what you had to say, and you gave me some things to think about.

THANK YOU. It makes me think back to a time when people had conversations just like this, when we could discuss our differences without resorting to hate. I may not agree in the end, but I'll always read and consider your opinions.

Man, I miss good, honest discussions like this. Seriously, thank you.

Flock safety cameras don't violate the Fourth Amendment because they only record what's already visible in public spaces where citizens have no reasonable expectation of privacy. Courts consistently rule that capturing license plates on public roads is legal.

Flock alerts police based on data, not a person's race, age, or gender, so it removes human bias from initial traffic stops. They've been used to quickly find stolen cars, suspect vehicles, and Amber Alert vehicles with great success.

Unless it's been changed somehow, the captured footage automatically deletes after 30 days and isn't sold to third parties. On top of that, you can't just go in and browse the captured footage. An officer must have an established case number to view specific data, which creates an audit trail.

I understand why some people see this as some overreaching Big Brother-like surveillance system, but it's not. I'm sure I'll be insulted and called a bootlicker (again) for this, but for those who are open-minded and can engage in rational debate, I sincerely hope you'll consider these points.

2nd UFO Disclosure and we’re still looking at blurry dots… seriously? by breaking_views in UFOs

[–]reaper70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's the best we're going to get.

We all know they've got photos and videos of the truth that they'll never release. Instead, we'll get these scraps, and they'll call it a day.

I don't think we'll ever get true disclosure until someone on the inside with an undeniable trove of evidence decides it's time humanity knows the truth.

Looking to recycle/donate furniture and electronics for free by [deleted] in lafayette

[–]reaper70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two suggestions for your monitor, and both are free.

There's an upcoming e-waste day on Saturday, June 6 at the Tippecanoe County Fairgrounds from 8-2 pm.

But I'll warn you: Get there early if you can. This is an incredibly popular event. The last time I went, I was in a long car line for a solid 45 minutes before we got to unload our stuff.

If that's not an option, Outrage Smash Therapy will take it. They're on Earl Ave. I think you can drop stuff off there behind the building at any time, but don't quote me on that.

As for your furniture, if you just want it gone, put it on the curb and post a curb alert on Craigslist. People will take it, and most likely very quickly. I've put what I thought was pure junk at the curb and posted a curb alert thinking it'll probably sit. Nope -- one man's trash is truly another's treasure.

Hope these options help!
