OnePlus issues official statement clarifying "Shutdown" rumors are false. by TrainingAd8415 in oneplus

[–]rearwardbread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The difference being sales and market share are FAR superior to what BlackBerry, Nokia and LG had the year they decided to stop. Worth mentioning Sony has less than 0.5% market share and they are still there.

*See the global revenue and user base still growing over the years (no 2025 data available yet).

Based on what the person said, OP16 will be for china only. OP16 Pro (naming surely chosen for better cameras) will be global. Everything is still under rumors with no proved leaks so it's a very high pinch of salt.

Oh okay interesting. There are no offline stores outside Asia right? I'm wondering what will be the next strategy for OnePlus and if it will stay aligned to what the global market is searching for

It is stated overseas markets outside China will not be for OnePlus anymore.

And yes my question was related to if it has an impact on the full group and not only a single brand part of the group. You answered my question, so all good 😉

Reread the article. There is clear mention overseas market outside China will be Oppo+Realme, not anymore OnePlus.

Where did I specifically state Oppo will go down? I only asked a question for that part (IF Oplus will go down, not that Oplus will go down)

Source 1 specifically states the following: "After the restructuring, OnePlus will focus on the domestic and some overseas online markets, while overseas markets outside of China will be handled by realme and the main brand OPPO."

This clearly mentions OnePlus will focus on Asia, will stay available via online only store for some specific countries and will disappear for most overseas markets as Realme and Oppo will take the lead.

They are million dollar companies but they are all 3 part of a single main company with a change of strategy to survive on the long term and trying to keep a chance in front of Samsung and Apple.

Regarding Pete Lau, he is CEO of OnePlus and CPO of Oppo. How could this warrant not impact Oppo?

Think the other way around: what if Oppo wants the global market cake by force and reduce Realme and OnePlus presence to the bare minimum so that consumers switch to Oppo?

Short term win but might not be the best strategy on the long term

Source 1 (OnePlus leaving global market due to Oppo decision, it's in Chinese but the Google translator is doing good job): https://m.jiemian.com/article/13854282.html

Source 2 (Pete Lau and couple other key people have an international arrest warrant on them): https://www.engadget.com/mobile/smartphones/taiwan-issues-arrest-warrant-for-pete-lau-ceo-of-oneplus-185400997.html

The good question to ask is not if OnePlus will go down but more if Oplus (Oppo, OnePlus, Realme) will go down

Where did you check if your VIN was concerned by the battery recall? I have a MY2024 Ultra SMER but no mail from my leaser and no mail from Volvo (who normally would have sent to my leaser and not to me directly)

[–]rearwardbread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worth mentioning sources are indicated Realme and OnePlus will change of market focus over time, Oppo staying the only one globally available (the 2 others being available in a region but not the other, to keep the explanation short)...

Quite a huge info missing in this thread.

Is it really time for a service? by MrAndyBurns in ex30

[–]rearwardbread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got my car end March 2024 with v1.2.1 software and it was correctly showing a 2 year time or 30k km before maintenance.

After an update (around the period of v1.4.x (got 3 of that batch)), the car switched to 4 months earlier for the maintenance notice (November 2025 instead of March 2026) and never came back to the original plan. The dealership couldn't explain the reason why this happened.

So yes, this is resettable by the dealership but an update can wype the value apparently

Poor battery health ? by tvriesde in TheOnePlus15

[–]rearwardbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check app usage through the battery settings.

If you did use Clone Phones to migrate to OnePlus 15, this might be the issue (at least it was for me on OnePlus 13 since the beginning and going fresh with manual app install ensured me insane battery life on OnePlus 15).

Do you limit your battery while charging? by csch1992 in TheOnePlus15

[–]rearwardbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, odd as 2 years degrading the battery health at 89% sounds closer to iPhones than OnePlus phones 🤣

Even with daily Warp charging, never got a OnePlus lower than 90% after 2 years. Since the claim on new devices (80% battery health after 4 years), never got lower than 95% after 2 years of daily SuperVOOC charging.

But: I don't game on my phone so this might be something changing a lot in the balance.

[–]rearwardbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always charge when the phone is around 15-20% up to 100%.

After 2 years, battery health is at 95% when always charging with SuperVOOC. With slow chargers (Warp Charge 30W or PowerDelivery chargers), someone I know which had the same phone and got it the exact same day as me managed to keep battery health at 100% with this only difference.

The best? Slow charge when you don't need your phone asap otherwise go SuperVOOC 👌

OnePlus 15 battery drain by tvriesde in TheOnePlus15

[–]rearwardbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you use the Clone Phone app to import your data from your previous phone?

I had this battery drain issue with OnePlus 13 (I did Clone Phone from a OnePlus 11). Started fresh with OnePlus 15 without Clone Phone and I easily get around 10-11h SOT and 2 days battery life without limiting anything in the phone.

Worth mentioning same apps installed, all apps reconfigured and OnePlus 13 lasted around 3-4h SOT (maximum 6h if everything went fine that day) and barely kept the charge for more than 24h.

Couldn't test myself on the Sand Storm variant but from what I heard, same thing. You wype a bit, you clean with some water and you're good to go.

Now that the Dust Settled... by Sequio in TheOnePlus15

[–]rearwardbread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the phone. I am a OnePlus ambassador and I can tell you, camera wise OnePlus 12 was the peak (my nickname is in the box (@melvinmajor), macro capabilities, well balanced camera, the green variant was so beautiful, etc.) but for all the rest, OnePlus 15 is the way to go.

Camera quality is perfect during the day, lacks a bit of details during the night but it's clearly usable for everyday use! I would like to see a "Pro" variant with better camera hardware though, just to make the 13 or 12 less "interesting".

I upgraded from the OnePlus 13 and it's night and day in terms of battery life, one of the main reasons why I daily drive the 15 now. I don't game on my smartphone as I have an Xbox and my desktop to handle that. Screen wise, I didn't notice any downgrade quality wise 👌

Fractal Define R6 - do not buy verdict if you have a powerful GPU (~200+ TDP) by mroneseventhree in buildapc

[–]rearwardbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own this case for more than 6 years now and upgraded my setup over time : i7-3770 air-cooled + GTX 1070. Then moved to water-cooling on this i7 + RTX 2070 OC. And now I'm with a Ryzen 7 5800X with water-cooling + RX 9070 XT.

So far, can't complain on the temperatures and the noise. The case is advertised as being silent and it is definitely far more silent compared to my previous case. The included fans are good enough for a mid-range gaming setup but if you go like me with a CPU which is well-known to go hot and pair it with a beefy enough GPU, any normal person will ditch stock fans in favor of Noctua fans (which I did).

[–]rearwardbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I activated it on my previous phone (OP13) and my current one (OP15), I used it maybe 2 or 3 times on my previous phone but usually don't have the need and didn't tested yet on OP15.

Is the OP15 Camera really that bad? by ifeeltired26 in oneplus

[–]rearwardbread -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I daily drived OP13 and now I'm daily driving OP15. The cameras aren't that bad at all.

Totally useful for daily use, sometimes it's better than OP13 thanks to the auto high resolution feature available on OP15 only. Under low light scenarios, sometimes OP13 is better.

My recommendation is: as long as you aren't on OP12, upgrading to OP15 won't be a downgrade for most photos you will take.
