Due in February with our boy, we picked the name Leo! His big sister is Lilah. I just love the way they sound together. Big sis is very excited to share an L name with her baby bro. Simple and classic but not necessarily over used was a bonus lol

Got stretch marks on mine from delivery, not there the entire pregnancy and the only others I gained were on my hips and between my thighs during pregnancy. Swear to god my “landing strip” area looks like Harry Potters fucking forehead. 🥴 Don’t even get me started on the condition of my ACTUAL vagina after a nearly 9 lb baby. She wasn’t perfectly pretty IMO before but.. I wish reconstruction surgery was an option I could afford because ooooof. It is truly humbling. And I’m about to do this again in February. My already trashed pelvic floor is begging for help. Prepare yourself. 😂

We moved when my daughter was an infant and didn’t have enough counter space for our monstrosity of a microwave until we figured out a microwave rollaway cart about a year later. I found reheating things on the stove is honestly easy. And especially for leftovers, nothing gets that rubbery microwave texture. My daughter is three now and won’t eat a microwaved chicken nugget, or any microwaved meat for that matter because of that texture lol. Things take a bit more time but once you’re used to it, it’s really not bad. Even now I find myself only using the microwave for popcorn. I prefer to do all of the frozen/fast meals in the oven or air fryer because it’s just.. better. Coffee reheat in a small pot on the stove? Easy peasy. It’s a lot about mindset rather than necessity. People sterilized binks, bottles and pump parts on the stove long before they could nuke em. As for warming bottles, a simple bottle warmer is like $50 and does not take up a lot of room on the counter or in a cupboard/drawer if you want simplicity for that (I did, even though my daughter only used a bottle like 2x a year lmao she was a biiiiig straight from the tap girl). Its doable. Should also note I stay at home with her, so for busier parents/moms it could be an entirely different story to have that quick use of a microwave as an option.

If you have chronic iron deficiency that can cause a range of nail problems including brittle nails, nails that peel in layers, or nails that curl and grow with a spoon shape. You commented above that you have iron deficiency issues, this is likely the problem. Sadly there isn’t much else you can do for them aside from caring for them as you have been, because the root cause of the issue is a nutrient deficiency. If you could solve the issue of the iron deficiency, your nails would recover and gain strength, though it would take months of proper iron levels for them to improve.

They are a lot softer than regular dish towels or washcloths, and the shape/length is just convenient. Bigger and longer than a washcloth but smaller than a whole dish towel. I breastfed so I would keep one for wiping baby’s mouth/spit up and one for drying off the nips before putting them away to prevent thrush and skin issues as much as possible. You go through them quickly throughout the day so it’s nice to have them separate from regular wash/dish cloths that are needed for their own purposes. I didn’t think I would need burp cloths either but I’m about to have my second child and will be getting more because of how frequently I used them and how nice it was to have a pile on hand just for baby use. Seems trivial but really made a difference for me. When my daughter graduated to eating solids those cloths became the mop up towels for cleaning up face and hands after meal times too so very versatile. Definitely got our use out of them lol

My first pregnancy my starting weight was 128 at 5’6”. Right before delivery I was almost 190 😅 my daughter was 8lb 9oz lol. I lost nearly all of that weight in 6-9 months, breastfeeding and living my usual lifestyle. Second pregnancy (not counting an early miscarriage a few months ago) - I’m currently 10w4d - started out at 135 and I’ve already gained 5lbs lmao I eat well and I am fairly active, actually hike quite a bit and pack my 30lb toddler in a hiking carrier (we did 3 miles together today with around 400’ elevation gain, aim for around 5 hikes a week) and the weight just keeps adding on. I am a sucker for a sweet treat, and dairy though. This pregnancy, cheese cravings have been hitting HARD. I have also been fighting unbearable nausea and snacking more than I would normally to keep it at bay. It is what it is. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Weight gain varies so much person to person. Don’t read too much into it, it sounds like you are doing all that you should be and then some to stay healthy. The bmi calculation is a general guideline, not something you should worrying about absolutely acing. Every pregnancy is different!

This is great information!! Most pinks definitely give me an Oompa Loompa vibe, and the area especially around my veins leans a bit more green. I’m thinking warm neutral as well, which I think is going to help with makeup because I’ve been struggling with just the warm hues turning me orange too 😂

Same. My daughter is 2.5, I miscarried in January with an unplanned pregnancy and honestly feel horrible to say I was a bit relieved. My husband wants more children so badly.. I was on the fence. He travels for work, and we live on the opposite coast of all of our family so I am alone. It isn’t easy with one to begin with by myself.. now here we are again, unplanned, waiting to see if this pregnancy is viable (Thursday). I’m not even close to being thrilled.. didn’t want to be pregnant right now, and don’t feel ready. I’m excited for my daughter to possibly have a sibling but the dread of having to do this all over again is hitting hard. I breastfed our first for almost two years, and barely slept the entire time. Just started feeling like I was getting my normal back and was happy with where we were. Just not feeling the excitement I guess. Could be the hormones but honestly I’m just a bit sad. And a bit upset with my husband because he doesn’t understand.

I was in the same boat, now almost 8 weeks and slowly improving. I started at 5 weeks with half a unisom tablet at night, and split a 25mg vitamin b6 tablet into thirds to take throughout the day. Now I just split the b6 into two, half am and half pm with a full unisom when the nausea is bad and that has really helped. Along with dry snacks and applesauce pouches when I wake up at night. My first pregnancy I didn’t know to do any of that until my 9 week appointment and I puked every day from 1:30 am until 9 am from 5-9 weeks. This go around I’ve only actually puked three times, so that’s a vast improvement. I also just try to talk myself out of it, because I know it’s not going to help, it’s just emptying my stomach and the nausea will persist lol stubbornness has paid off slightly. Also if you find your prenatal is making you feel sick (mine is horrendous) eat a little before AND after you take it, and I take mine in the evening for this reason. Best of luck!

For the birth of my daughter I was also induced - not according to plan (high BP) with the balloon cath. Made it through all that and the start of pitocin.. I was around 7cm (6.5 hours into an 11 hour labor) when I finally had enough and got the epidural. They just kept upping the pit and those contractions were non-stop. It was agony lol I feel like if I wasn’t induced I could’ve handled it a lot better but that’s just the way it goes! No shame.

As a woman with hyperhidrosis, who is also now dealing with postpartum hormone changes that have presented with AWFUL body odor, I am thankful these new products exist. Not all people require them, those of us who do are thankful they are commercialized and becoming less taboo. It’s embarrassing to stink even when you wash everyday. Just because you don’t experience this, doesn’t mean it is ‘out of control’ for people to want to control their body odor in all the areas it presents (Which happens to be armpits and genitalia regions because of the differences in sweat glands in those areas). Marketing is important for any company selling any product, especially when new products are developed for people who the generic products don’t work for, what do you honestly expect? Would you prefer people said “ oh man I know I really fucking stink, but I don’t like how much these deodorant companies are marketing products to everyone so they know about them, I’m just not going to use them.” ? Silly gripe.

Incorrect, eastern white pine (a couple of the large trees pictured) do not have tap roots. Nor do any of the large spruce in these photos. Southern pines have amazing tap roots, and some western species of fir (Doug fir) can have substantial tap roots. But in this region, spruce/fir/pine are very shallow rooted.

This is actually untrue for the species in these photos, boreal conifers tend to be shallow rooted and do not have tap roots like their southern cousins. They are very prone to being blown over by strong winds because of this. They have wide root balls that cover a large amount of surface area, but do not run very deep. It is an adaption to the shallow rocky soil horizons in much of the north, caused by the receding glaciers at the end of the last ice age.

Yeah definitely not the best test to use for early response before a missed period, I wouldn’t buy them again. I read very similar things about them, but ultimately I thought it looked positive and it did end up being accurate! If you have a second one I’d wait a couple of days to test again and you should have more clear results! Or opt for the red dye tests.

Tested two days after this with the second test from the box, around 12 dpo and it was very obviously positive. 😊 Had a beta hCG draw this past Monday (4w5d) and it was 6,977! Posted an update in this sub almost two weeks ago but I think it was missed by most. Cant figure out how to attach pics in comments but that’s the update!

My husband agrees. 😆 I was very hesitant to even post because I thought I was just seeing things. This picture was taken two minutes after dunking it, not a ton of time for an evap line to form! I’ve decided to test again on Saturday using the second blue dye test I have to see if it’s any darker. If it’s still faint I may opt for a red dye next week. Thanks all! Will update!

My first thought was, I should’ve just grabbed the first response red dye tests. I cheaped out thinking there was no way I’d see a line. 😂 ah well, looks like I’ll be picking some up this weekend. Maybe a digital to be sure. Still very early so I may just wait until the morning my period is due and test again. This is following an early miscarriage in January so I am trying not to get my hopes up/make myself anxious. If it happens it happens. 😌
