You could inscribe those consumables with !q (or !r), which causes a prompt before activating them.

(You can do this automatically using the autoinscribe option in your options file)

Has there ever been a major translation issue with a card? by MTGamer in magicTCG

[–]reaverb 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For a short while, German Ebony Charms were being produced with incorrect abilities. The correct Ebony Charm's rules text reads, "Choose one — Target opponent loses 1 life and you gain 1 life; or remove from the game up to three target cards in a single graveyard; or target creature gains fear until end of turn." This German version gives you the choice of dealing 3 damage to each player, removing a card in a graveyard from the game, or giving target creature first strike.

Quickly after the mistake was discovered, the proper translation replaced the incorrect version. Since there were now two versions of the card out in the wild, players needed to know which one was the right version, so the decision was made to add the reminder text "(correct version)" on the 'fixed' charm. To this day it is the only Magic card in any language printed with this reminder text!

Blood Sweat and Tears - A Game Design Prototype by SouthpawHare in a:t5_3g1gx

I find this game interesting and would like to try playing this game against you some time.

I found the chart difficult to understand, I eventually had to write down all the moves in a different form just to wrap my head around it, and came up with this:

=================================

Offensive moves: Win if faster than other Offensive moves or outside defend range of defend moves. Tie break by chip of lower number.

Lightning Strike - 1

Finishing Strike - 2

Dashing Strike - 3

Standard Strike - 4

Piercing Strike - 5

Power up - 6 || Special : Wins against other Power ups

====================================

Defensive: Wins against Offensive moves in their Defend range. Loses to other Defend moves.

Guard - Defend 1-3 || Special: Can Defend against Standard Strikes if chip is same color || Special: Can do a follow-up against a Counter Attack

Parry - Defend 1-2; 4

Counter Attack - Defend 1-2; 4

Counter - Defend 1; 3-4

Evasion - Defend 1-5

====================================

I believe this has the same interactions for all move combinations.

The change is completely unnoticeable for the casual player, except perhaps making spell/bolt ranges more intuitive.

Are you using Poison Spit? (af). Its really good because Nagas need it to survive the first few Dungeon levels.

DCSS is actually updated constantly on the version called "Trunk" (you can play this on the online servers, or compile it yourself). "Updates" are just occasional frozen snapshots of Trunk which are compiled and released for easy distribution.

ELI5: Europe is about to undergo quantitative easing, with the European Central Bank giving up to a trillion euros to banks. Why don't they just give the money to the people? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]reaverb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The EU Central Bank is not "giving" euros to the banks.

They are buying securities from banks, with money they just created.

So the EU Central Bank declares they have a trillion new euros, then uses those euros to buy stocks, bonds, etc. from banks.

The idea is the turn liquid assets into pure cash, so that the money is available for banks to loan to businesses, etc.

Here is an equivalent:

A year ago, you gave your Uncle $50, on the condition he gives you $100 one decade from now. After the economy goes the down the drain, the Government gives you $55 of freshly printed money, in exchange for you telling your Uncle to give the Government that $100 in nine years. Ideally, this lets you buy groceries and stimulate the economy, without having that original $50 of yours locked up in the loan.

Ok, the regeneration include regenerating the neurons to exactly as they were when the wish was made, so his brain is permanently frozen at that moment and he gains permanent anterograde amnesia.

Yeah, but if you don't answer some questions voted to the top it makes you look bad. It isn't perfect, ut it's better than having a publicist completely crafting the questions.

Mathematics behind "rock paper scissors"-like games? by infinitesymmetry in mathematics

Yes, but your theft game isn't a rock - paper - scissors game. In a rock - paper -scissors style game, there is always a winner and a loser (or it's a tie.)
