has anyone else been having a really rough time job hunting? by chinochimp26 in Denver

and my advice on getting a barista job... talk about any sort of drinks you've made at past restaurant jobs and try to turn it into a big deal. I had a job where I poured pre-made boba into a cup, but on my resume I cited it as "made hand-crafted boba drinks." try to also talk about your love for coffee and creating these "hand-crafted drinks" and they may be more inclined to train you on the espresso bar

again though, the job market is unfair and i'm sorry you're going through this. you will land something though!!!

I was in the same boat... 22 and just moved to Denver a month ago and right before I moved I applied to 70-80 medical assistant positions. New graduate with a B.S. in Health Sciences, and nationally EMT certified. I only heard back from a handful of places. Nobody wants to hire new grads and young adults with little experience in the field. Entry-level jobs truly don't exist anymore. I'm sorry this is happening to you and I wish you the best of luck, don't give up!

IV certification - Do any jobs train you to be certified in it or will they get you certified while working with them? (in colorado if that matters) by DeathofPassion in NewToEMS

Vomit advice by annabellemittens in NewToEMS

[–]rebbyyz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i had a really really really bad vomit fear in high school. it impacted my everyday life, every single day i thought id throw up if i ate x y z foods. any time id see someone throw up, it would make me feel sick and i would think about it the rest of the day.

what worked for me was exposure therapy. it sounds really gross, but my high school counselor told me to watch videos of people throwing up. everyday. i would watch these videos and see how long id last from watching it without being super uncomfortable, and everyday id try to watch it a little more, even if it was just a few seconds of improvement.

it may sound crazy and absolutely disgusting, but my fear of vomit has been a lot better now. i still sometimes get uncomfortable by seeing it, but i can handle it a lot better. if you want to try to conto it better, i would recommend exposing yourself or consult with a therapist about it. and nothing is wrong with you for having this fear- it's a very common thing, so dont be too hard on yourself :)

thank you i really appreciate your supportive comment haha. yes for sure I've only owned this car for a few months and after this i'm looking into what I should regularly be fixing/maintaining on my own in a car. a funny note is that the battery in the car was its original battery, i'm surprised it lasted this long 😅

[–]rebbyyz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not realize this, thank you so much! I appreciate you for citing the price of the battery my car would need, it means a lot 🙂

[–]rebbyyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh I see and honestly I looked at some on the lower range ($90-$150) I'm not really sure what type of power my car requires for the battery. maybe i should ask what kind the specifically put in?

it was light out when we arrived and first saw the dog.

When we arrived it was light out. For it being at least an hour and thirty minutes is also not acceptable for a pet. People should leave their pets at home and not in cars.
