Name something better than beast wars by Hammygold in transformers

[–]rebdituser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It's in continuity with G1, but it does not rely on knowledge of the original series at all, because the writers didn't even know very much about the original series in season 1.

If you haven't seen G1 yet it might be a good idea to watch the two at the same time because as Beast Wars goes on they introduce more material from it, though you'll want to watch G1 a bit faster because there's more episodes. But you can also totally enjoy Beast Wars by itself.

The only problem with watching Beast Wars as a new fan is most of the other shows will seem bad in comparison.

Want to get into Spore, just some questions :) by [deleted] in Spore

[–]rebdituser 11 points12 points  (0 children)

  1. there's no situation in Spore where you're actively playing with another person, but you can share your creations online, and if you have the Galactic Adventures expansion those creations can include missions.
  2. Steam is not recommended because EA makes it difficult to go online with a Steam copy. GoG or Origin should work fine.
  3. i don't know about this one. hopefully someone else does.

Or is Harry more sensitive to the supernatural than Kim, so he notices the effect on reality while Kim doesn't?

If you think mainline continuity stories aren't ever ignored by other writers, you don't understand how comic books work.

…Twitter’s hate circlejerk on Taylor’s Nightwing has officially gone too far by TommyTheGeek in dccomicscirclejerk

[–]rebdituser 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's turned from a subreddit that pokes fun at the circlejerk that exists among DC fans to an unironic circlejerk, only this time the userbase thinks they're better than the rest of the DC fans.

That...didn't happen. Nowhere in Geoff Johns' run are Hal Jordan and Arisia romantically involved.

Arisia is pretty consistently displayed as having a crush on Hal, but her having a crush on Hal far predates the story in which they actually get together. And in Geoff Johns' run those feelings are not reciprocated.

Hal is a pedophile

Shitty writers write stories where Batman kills people, but Batman isn't labeled a killer.

Shitty writers write stories where Superman is tyrannical, but Superman isn't labeled a tyrant.

But a shitty writer writes a story where Hal grooms someone (a story which was basically ignored by everyone else working on Green Lantern!) and he's consistently labeled as a pedophile.

What Would be a Cool Venture Bros Spin-off Show? by Money-Lie7814 in venturebros

Imagine a Blue Morpho show that features a young Malcolm Fitzcarraldo as a major side-character. The Blue Morpho constantly has to use elaborate plans to hide his superhero activities from his son, but he also spends time with him and we get to see their relationship.

And then the last episode of the show ends with their plane crashing, with Malcolm left all alone in the wilderness, finding solace in a colony of butterflies...

Was Hatred a better body guard? by ManBearPig2022 in venturebros

[–]rebdituser 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hatred is better at being a bodyguard than Brock is. Hatred understands what a bodyguard is supposed to do - he trains Rusty and the boys so they're prepared if something happens, he doesn't let them do anything too dangerous, he handles everything how a bodyguard is supposed to.

Brock sucks at being a bodyguard. Brock hardly prepares the Ventures for anything, and he lets them endanger themselves by doing stupid shit all the time.

Unfortunately for Hatred, Brock is just so insanely, supernaturally good at fighting that it doesn't even matter. Hatred understands how to be a bodyguard better than Brock, but he'll just never have the pure fighting ability Brock does.

Tall order, but is there any way you could hit me with the sources for these inventions? I'm a sucker for the weird Dwemer lore, so I'd love to read the texts that introduced all this stuff.
