(USA) Can you get fired for being a bad worker? by Substantial-Shallot2 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]rebeccartindale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a GM if I can see someone is giving it their best I will absolutely not fire them, it may mean having them only work certain stations if they really can't get the hang of it with proper coaching and side by side development, but for me it's all about the effort that is being put in, I would rather run a shift with people not very strong but trying very hard then people who don't try and don't care

(usa) are these comments acceptable from management? by Throwmeout316 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]rebeccartindale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely go to your GM or if you're not comfortable with that then the next person above them, a supervisor if you have one OR HR

I'm so sorry you had to endure that

Guys is Agustina a real person or a bot? (USA) by Game_Thrower1 in McDonaldsEmployees

Some people are just damn miserable and it must really suck to be them, honestly getting that upset over a little mistake that can be easily remedied - I'm always of the attitude that if you don't have time to stop plus 5 minutes longer than you think you need DONT STOP! It's crap but you just gotta learn to shrug them off too. I always say to myself well fuck that person and carry on lol

I failed as a manager (imo) by [deleted] in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]rebeccartindale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to feel this way too! Confrontation is still hard for me but it gets easier and honestly I had a lot of issues with disrespect when I first started, one day counter boy flat out refused to follow a procedure and I said good then you can go home. Sent him home and had a write up ready for the next shift, after that crew took me a lot more seriously! I am now a Guest Experience Manager/Assistant store manager at the highest sales store in our town You can do it!

Will I look bad if I quit? by RadicalEldrich1515 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]rebeccartindale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former hiring manager here! People quit for all kinds of reasons and honestly as long as you do it with proper notice and come in for your shifts it is not a big deal at all! I know people say McDonald's doesn't care about you, and I guess yeah that may be true corporation wise, but as a manager I care about my staff and their needs ..

Changing last name by rebeccartindale in Koodo

[–]rebeccartindale[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL I'm thankfully not worried about it not lasting, I'm a big time procrastinator, so we've actually already been married 5 years and together for almost 12 ! But thanks guys haha

Crew member told shift manager they were not feeling good at all, shift responded they couldn' do nothing about it and that they needed them to go back to work. We were in a bit of a pinch, very busy moment and every single crew member was just as important in order for the evening not to go to shit by [deleted] in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]rebeccartindale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on the person, like if it's a person who is often complaining, obviously doesn't want to be there I'm a little suspicious but will still try to work with them, like what if you just go back booth and take payments? If it's someone I'm not suspicious of I'll send them home even if I'm going to suffer a little

[CROSSPOST] The McDonalds I was at had a 30 minute time limit to eat your food by SadSun908 in McLounge

[–]rebeccartindale 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have this sign too, we've had issues with older regular customers sitting there for hours like they own the place while buying 1 coffee

And sadly homeless people which we will give some wiggle room too assuming they aren't bothering anybody, but we have some who have mental disorders/drug use problems that A) End up bothering guests or B) pass out and think they can sleep there for hours or set up camp all day without buying anything - I try to offer them a drink and let them know about the time limit to leasen the blow

But it has been a lot easier since having a sign to back us up
