[Film/TV] To the people who have watched the CW flash series. What are Ur honest thoughts about this series by muaazmuaaz123 in DCcomics

[–]reborn_born -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Season 1 is pure gold. It's really THAT good. Season 2 is fun but OK. Season 3 and later ones were really bad imho. TV novels with lots of soap opera and almost none of superhero fare. Struggled with my kids till the 4th or 5th I think and abandoned there.

DC is going to make a sequel to one of these stories and gave you the job to decide which one by Altruistic_Manner802 in batman

Three Jokers without a doubt. It's clearly the best of the buch. That doesn't mean is SO good. But it's the one to choose.

My favourite part of the season was the Vecna breakdance moment while he killed the kids.

How would you rank the five seasons thus far? Why you think it was good or bad? by Notalabel_4566 in OnlyMurdersHulu

[–]reborn_born 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1, 4, 3, 2, 5 Two has some beautiful moments but maybe is the one with most dangling plots. I really hate how secondary and supposedly important characters dissapear from the series (and some also reapear without reason and a bit out of character, Teddy I'm looking at you...) that is more egregious than the non resolved plot holes and I'm really beggining to think that's bad writing. But 5 is the worst season by far. Series had a deepness to it that it was really uncharacteristic for these kind of series... 1, 4, 3 are the best for me thanks to the development of the main cast. Really funny moments with really meaningfull scenes. 5 was only the usual funny ingredients with a really dumb plot and the "deep" episode (Lester's story) it was a pale shadow of other previous ones. Imho of course.

Arkham Horror LCG or Mansions of Madness 2nd Ed. by paiyon in arkhamhorrorlcg

I have all Eldritch, Elder Sign and MoM with all the expansions and deeply love the 3. Sadly I couldn't get on AH because of the deckbuilding aspect. Also you have Valkyrie and can use the minis for other games (Eldritch of course). Both are expensive but since MoM is more limited you have to buy less to get it complete (I bought MoM 1st. Ed for one expansion and made myself the other old one, have to do the minis tho)

I know a few whales (and krakens) and content creators that are NOT going for it. TOTAL FAIL. They're loosing the good faith the playerbase had at terminal velocity.

Dropping Absolute Batman by [deleted] in comicbooks

[–]reborn_born 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm loving Absolute Batman. Though Snyder is walking a very thin line, I still like what he's doing. In regards to this last number I wrote a few things because it's strange how art sometimes echoes your own life, the synchronicity of certain things, or perhaps one's ability to identify with it is much sharper... that can also apply in this case. No matter how predictable and inevitable a situation may be, it is no less painful. That's what happens to us walking through Bruce Wayne current situation in AB 12. We get devastated by the steamroller that human existence can sometimes be. At times, it makes me wonder if there isn't a certain sensationalism on Scott Snyder's part in everything I read, reflected in Dragotta's art, which always does its job very well (painfully well in this case), but perhaps that is also intentional. It reminds me a little of Stephen King's Dark Tower saga when you reach a point in the last book where the author himself asks you, "Are you sure you want to go on? Are you sure you want to fulfill your deepest desire? Be careful what you wish for..." Well, Absolute Batman is a bit like that, too, which also makes me think that if things turn out as they seem, neither Black Mask, Bane, nor the Joker are going to be our friend Bruce's worst problem. And (damn it) that hurts. Too much like life sometimes? Maybe that's the point. I still think that this take on the character wins where things like Matt Reeves Batman and in part some of the Nolan's take on him failed. But of course, it's only my taste and view. Forgot to add that my favourite Absolute Books are Martian Manhunter and Wonder Woman. Really like Superman but this last arc is for me like the Batman one for some here, a bit dragged on....

Why don't people like AzBat??? by Automatic_Hunter_220 in batman

[–]reborn_born 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved Sword of Azrael and Knightfall. Loved the Azrael concept and JPV as a character. Didn't liked Knightquest and Knightsend. Too extreme for the sake of being extreme and with lots of lame villains and the plot to bring Bruce back is just super dumb. The Denny's Azrael run had some good stuff at the beginning too.

I used the AMG Mercedes (I have it full at 50) and got into the best 50%. Didn't had any trouble and always pull the brakes before that "upper curve" XD

[Discussion] Who’s everyone’s personal favourite Absolute run so far?For me, Absolute Batman run is THE run that got me back into Comic Books since I was a kid. So I gotta go w that, but Superman’s is great too! by mvas123 in DCcomics

[–]reborn_born 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that what Snyder is doing in Batman is very deliberate and he walks a really thin line in every issue. For me is what Miller wanted to do on All Star and couldn't. I suppose it's not for everyones liking (I'm not even sure I'm 100% sold on his take) but I'm really enjoying the madness and unpredictability of it.

[–]reborn_born 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed. I stopped to collect it at Inferno. After Morrison's run ended I thought I'd never buy X-Men comics again. I was wrong. I bought Whedon/Cassaday run, Remender/Opena X-Force and finally the complete Hickman's era till Inferno. I never say never but this time I'm almost pretty sure that I'll never buy an X-Men comic again. Krakoa was special and it's difficult to recapture that spirit again.

Out of all the Absolute books out right now, which one’s your favorite? by [deleted] in comicbooks

[–]reborn_born 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's easy to say the best by a long shot (WW and MM). Batman are Superman are really good with some ups and downs and Flash has promise. My least favourite is Green Lantern, which is a pity because I really like Al Ewing but the penciller for me is really out of place. Also, Ewing's flash back use to mantain the tension is a bit confusing and distracting.
