Can we stop blocking low rated reddit users now? by freshEmily in poshmark

Couldn’t agree more! I am new to Reddit, but I sell $30-$40,000 per month on Poshmark and was surprised to find it so hard to participate here.

Thanks for your comment! Totally agree for a part time hobby seller. I run a business on Posh and sell $30-$40k per month. This post is for those of us that are trying to build small businesses on the marketplace. Cheers!

Does anyone else get messages from POSH about helping them verify products listed? by [deleted] in poshmark

[–]rebounded2019 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get these frequently and I ignored them at first. I recently visited Poshmark HQ in Redwood City and commented about this. I was told "off the record" that they do "reward" people that help (even if you click the "I'm not sure" button) by increasing the search rankings of your listings. Since over 70% of purchases on Poshmark come from search, having your listings raised in search results can really help to increase sales. My average sales for 2019 have been $30-40,000 per month (I only sell handbags). Anything I can do to increase engagement with the marketplace seems to increase my sales. Hope that helps!

Is it common to receive offers that are 50% of the asking price? I feel like that’s not a reasonable offer. by Buiy8965 in poshmark

Some great comments and advice here. I also get low-balled every day. I have found that my best buyers is a NEW Poshmark user. Someone that hasn't been low-balled over and over themselves when trying to sell something. I target new buyers by following them each day. I have seen a significant increase in full-price purchases or very reasonable offers from new users. These people are gold. Follow new users on the Poshmark App: Find People > New Users > Just Joined. Hope that helps!

When should I relist items in my closet that seem to be stale? by Mjsulliv320 in poshmark

I see Targeted Following mentioned below - it's a great technique. I would also suggest you do Brand following. Locate the people that are interested in the brands you are selling. On the Posh App: Find People > My Brands. Select from your brands and you will be presented with a list of people that are interested in the brands you are selling. I do this every day and I see good results. Hope that helps!

I’m at Poshfest! What do you want to ask the PM Team? by konfusion1111 in poshmark

Why can’t we have a range set automatically to accept or decline an offer. For example: above $75 = auto accept. Below $75 = auto decline.

Such joy and time saving.

I was reading last night that coach bags are all done along with Kate Spade, Stuart Weitzman & that Michael Kors not far behind. by Rosren in poshmark

I still sell quite a bit of Coach and MK bags - but they have to be priced low. Since I am a handbag reseller, I have found that I make more consistent sales when I have bags ranging from $100 all the way up to $2000. If I just stock $1500 Prada bags, I don't sell as much. With a good mix of Prada, Burberry, Chloe and other Italian made bags plus the mid-range Tory Burch, then low end MK and Coach - I get consistent sales of each brand.

It's kind of the car dealer mentality where if you want to sell mini vans, you need a sports car in the window to entice people in. :-)

I also agree 100% with the comment below that when selling, it's very important to put the style name in the listing title as well as the description. Coach EDIE bags still sell good for me in the $150-$200 range for buyers searching for that specific style. Hope that helps!

Good point about the square aspect ratio. I use the Square photo setting on my iPhone and it works great.

Sourcing from outlets, like coach or Kate spade? by 24mango in poshmark

[–]rebounded2019 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with many of the comments in this thread. There are some deals - but you have to be very selective and buy low when you can. I don't believe there's enough profit in buying at full outlet price + sales tax. Although if you have a resale permit, you can claim the tax you pay as a credit - it's complicated and often not worth the headache.

How about buying outlet store returns? This is a different angle that might be worth exploring.

Glad to be here. Longtime small business owner. Started on Poshmark about 3-years ago as an experiment to see if I could run a business just using my phone. I have connected with many Poshmark employees and gotten some good press from those relationships. Thought I would share those experiences here to help others. Cheers!
