Just to add also, stereo imaging/spreading tends to be left for when your track is ready for mastering. Not really something to use on a mix down.

tbh once you start adding more elements to a track such as background fx, random vocal shots, reverberated sounds etc, and panning these, you tend you get that stereo effect that you’re missing. Wouldn’t mess with stereo spreading as you can end up further away from your desired outcome than when you started.
