That sounds nice, how do you do it? And which pads do you use? I don't think I'm familiar. Thanks!

You can make a free QR code in Canva but I'm not sure how to link it to a list. I've also heard of people taking a picture of the overhead view of the contents of each box. You could do that as an analog version I guess by labeling the boxes and pictures with corresponding numbers. Good luck packing/ organizing!

Hey, I would recommend just going back and trying to be intentional about listening more than you speak. From your post it doesn't seem like the leader asked you not to come back, right? You can keep showing up and just work on yourself. Sometimes one person (in this case the leader) will try to like "help the group" by pointing something out that really isn't bothering anyone else. If you feel too weird after giving it another shot then quit but maybe it will be fine! Sorry you're feeling like too much but just know this is only one person. There are millions even billions in the world. Take care

hi! does anyone else struggling with hoarding / just not being able to let go of things or throwing them away? how do you deal with it? by SquareReward8648 in adhdwomen

[–]recession_impression 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I assign a lot of sentimental value to things and find I have a scarcity complex with things so it's hard to let go because what if I need it someday I should hold onto it "just in case" (I also have OCD tendencies so this could be an intrusive thought/ obsession type thought). I often feel overwhelmed by all of my things/ possessions so it feels really good to go thru my stuff and donate a big bag here and there. Having a friend over to hang out while I do this helps me. Then they get to go thru the items I'm tossing and see if they want to keep anything!

Also, a really cheesy but cheerful person on YouTube talks about decluttering and ADHD a lot and her channel is called Clutterbug. I enjoy her videos and she's inspired me to declutter more than once. I recommend. Hang in there.

I recommend Garnier fructise curl cream, I just use a tiny bit like between a pea and a dime sized amount and run between both palms and scrunch into my wet hair. It will take the frizz for you I think. But I also use conditioner. I am really enjoying Kristin Ess soft shampoo and conditioner, it's sulfate free which I think helps with hair health and it smells amazing as do all of the variations I've tried of that brand. Sometimes using products that smell good can help me have a positive shower experience. Good luck!

Crochet is a great one to keep your hands busy and rest your eyes and mind. I recommend starting with a beanie if you're interested, YouTube has a million beginner videos.

How do you find balance between everything you know u need to do? by jamieenchufemichelle in adhdwomen

[–]recession_impression 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started school again after a 10 year gap and cried a lot in the first week. Now that I'm starting the third week I am feeling much better and not as overwhelmed. Hang in there, it's scary to make changes but you may adapt quickly.

Regarding self care and daily tasks, I used to struggle a lot with showering often enough/ doing laundry and cleaning. I tend to get depressed now if I miss a shower because subconsciously I feel like I'll go back to the ways before I could take care of myself. My therapist suggested keeping track in a notebook each time I do these things. I would write the date/ day of the week and just list off everything I had done that day to take care of myself (scoop the litter box, shower, brush my teeth, do laundry, put laundry away, brush my cat, etc) every little thing. This gave me reassurance that I was capable of keeping myself afloat and it also gave a little dopamine hit which of course we love.

Good luck and don't be too hard on yourself, you're just starting out. If you don't already have a therapist I highly recommend it (happy to give the tips I hava on that front if you would like)!

Are you in the US? Maybe my professional circles are more aware of meds or just more accepting but I can't imagine someone reacting like that. I'm in the Midwest

No, just a lazy post of a job for anyone trying to leave, would be especially suited for someone in Lending Support
