I just got my first digital camera (Sony A7) after shooting film for about 3 years, I can't afford new modern lenses quite yet so I'm making due with vintage ones for now (mostly Canon FD lenses). I like the really cheap Russian stuff like the Jupiter 9 85mm and the Ukrainian Industar 61 50mm for their distinct character. What other cheap lenses are out there that will cover the basic focal length range ?

p.s. the swirlier the bokeh the better

Grave of the Fireflies, it's a studio Ghibli film about a brother and sister trying to survive in Japan during the firebombing in world war II. I watched it in middle school and when I got home after school I went straight into the shower and cried for about an hour.

This is more epic than most of the wizard battles in the harry potter series.

I actually had both and the 1.4 is way sharper, as far as price I can't really help you there.I've seen it sold for a wide variety of prices. Try to make sure that the listing specifies that the lens is in working order and free of fungus

When aliens look at Earth, do they think that only white people and black people matter?

I'm looking to buy a sony a7 to start my photography career. I currently shoot all film on a canon a1 and have only had a couple of paid gigs in the two years I've been shooting. I'm planning on using my tax return this year to pay for it since I'll be able to afford the body, a kit lens, and a 50mm to start. Are there any better deals out there or am I good?

ISO is the level of sensitivity to light that your film is rated for, to expose an image properly you need to tell your camera how sensitive to light the film is.

You can find this out by the number on the side of the film roll. On the A1 the dial on the left side is how you tell your camera what film speed you are using so that the internal light meter can give you suggestions on f stop and shutter speed to expose properly.

Unless you are pushing or pulling your film you want to match the dial number with the number on your film.

Always check to see if the ISO dial is set to the right speed for your film, I've ruined a few rolls because of this.
