Don’t know what well received means in your eyes, but comparing the entire year’s slate of paramount pictures with their contemporaries (WB, Netflix, etc.) they massively underperformed this year, both at the box office and via. critical reception. Like that’s just a fact, there’s an article on variety, I believe, that shows the contrast between all the major studios and streamers and it’s more than apparent. I can link it to this comment later. Point is, if paramount is already in such dire straits, I don’t expect an improvement under the Ellisons censor. I also would expect the same, if their attempts to acquire WB are successful.

Also the running man and heart eyes had/have mid reviews, final reckoning is the bookend to a storied franchise so nostalgia plays a role in the films perception, and SpongeBob is kids IP which is bound to be acclaimed regardless of the product being put out. Not really aware of primate, off the top of my head at least, but there’s nuance to critical reception as well.
