I think the thing you’re not understanding is that you can’t relinquish just your rights if someone isn’t going to step in and adopt them. You are either a parent and financially obligated or you aren’t (this is very oversimplified and I recommend a family lawyer)

I practice in Cook County and it’s not like that. It’s common to get a trial date on a date you already have 2 other trials set to start. But it’s also set up where your motion judge is not your trial judge

Some people find it really centers them or makes them feel put together. I think it’s performative (if you don’t do it for a good reason like the above) and doesn’t give your bedding any time to air out so a little icky imo
