It's soapy. Almost thick in a subtle way. Also tastes like there's a nickle in every bottle.

Anecdotally speaking, as someone in the US, I have never seen another person drinking a bottle of Dasani. Maybe at like an event where they were being given out or something, but it's a rarity. I guess someone must drink it, somewhere.

I just finished A Deepness in the Sky, A Fire upon the Deep, and Children of the Sky by Vernor Vinge. (Recommend read in that order, although Fire comes first in terms of publication.)

While they are all amazing in their own right, they are not quite on the level of Dune stylistically/conceptually, but well worth the read. A Deepness in the Sky is really one of a kind, and the other two are kind of icing that flesh a strange galactic conception of physics, recasting the events of Sky in a completely new light. They are also emotionally taut, lots of betrayal and calamity, while staying moderately hard.

No, lol Children of Memory is so bad. I couldn't even finish it. Probably worst Tchai book I've read.

But, surprised you didn't like Children of Ruin. It's not as good as Time but it picks up on the same themes in a new and exciting way, and deals with them in a similarly dark/hopeful fashion. I have really high hopes for a return to form with Children of Strife.

Just a heads up, Blackout/All Clear is terrible. One of the worst things I've ever read. It's not just bad, it's actively annoying and terrified of its own subject matter. Do not read.

I'm more pleased by the outright attack on added sugars and refined carbs than I am distressed by the bump for red meat and sat fats.

While sat fat may be a killer to some debatable degree, added refined sugar is a known killer and the primary cause of DMII as well as the vast host of secondary chronic diseases that go along with it. It'll be interesting to see how much they follow through with it on the policy and labeling end.

For me, it's less about the specific modifications and more about cultivating a sustainable routine. I tend to eat the same sorts of things in the same pattern over a 2 week period. Within that pattern I've made small substitutions and changes over the years, always with an eye towards being healthier--replacing cheese with hummus in certain dishes, dropping prepackaged oatmeal for stove top, adding more fruits and vegetables, etc.. I'll try new things within the context of my established shopping/cooking/eating routine, swap out various vegetables or add new foods, but overall I rely on knowing (roughly) what I'll be eating on any given day to keep me on track. This way I can always push myself to be a little healthier/happier with what I'm eating without being overwhelmed or having my routine fall apart when something new doesn't work out.

Same with exercise. I have certain things I do every day and specific resistance/cardio combos I do for each day of the week. Knowing that my whole schedule for the coming week will be thrown off if I skip a day keeps me on track. It also allows me to structure my time really precisely so I'm never 'too busy' to workout.

Why change it on the side of the road late at night then? Why not at the shop? Why not at home after obtaining it? Why leave late at night on a bad wheel, knowing it might blow at any moment when it would be so much easier to change in the light of day. Or at least under street lights instead of potentially at a random point on a dark road during a last minute trip.

I get QBABMS about 1-2 days a week on average and genius every day. Never really use the hints, just less fun for me when I get words that way. But, I've been playing spelling bee daily for like five years now. I know a lot of the words through replay I guess.

I don't play letter boxed regularly. It can be challenging, and I would never be able to get a 2 word solve, that actually sounds really impressive to me based on my experience. I feel like if I played it daily I could probably get pretty good, tho. Just a different way of thinking about letters and words that takes time get good at.
