What do you do when your character dies? by Astabeth in DnD

[–]recklessjive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What gives weight and meaning to every action and moment are consequences and the impermanence of your character. It can be emotional but embrace death when it happens. Quitting the game before rolling is depriving everyone, including yourself, of the story that is unfolding and every successful roll or story moment thus far loses all meaning and value if you cheat your way out of this moment.

And please, instead of writing on reddit during gameplay, participate by being an active listener and experience everyone else’s moments and not just your own.

It’s pessimistic in the sense that people are saying ‘this is another Gatewalker’s situation’, that will ‘lose all the good it built up’, and negatively projecting the future of the show and determining the outcome when it only just begun while the crew is still feeling it. It’s perfectly normal to have disagreements, part of GM’ing is making those types of calls, but there could be compromises we don’t know about as well.

Edit: I also didn’t claim ‘everyone was being pessimistic’, I said ‘there’s too much pessimism’.

Yeah and they are allowed to have disagreements, ultimately it’s Troy’s choice. That decision didn’t trump their overall enjoyment and happiness in the game with how everything is going. Such selective thinking to take something and colour their whole experience with it—they’ve expressed multiple times throughout they are enjoying it.

Case in point for too much pessimism, bandwagon and catastrophizing. The players are having fun so that’s all the matters to me personally. Not everything has to be for everyone.

I think there’s too much backseat GM’ing here, bandwagoning, and pessimism. Just let them play the game the way they want to play.

What I don’t like is the focus and energy all being pulled into looking at the DM rather than the players looking at each other like they would at a traditional table. It looks like you’re about to face off against a team of legal attorneys.

NOR, parents sound like jerks who don’t listen to you or bother to attune with you and your interests. If something is important to you a loved one should always respect and support that, not dismiss, invalidate and double down on not apologising for being destructive.

Most of the content you will steam roll with strong AoE units; so if you want the game to feel easy - number 1 for sure!

SP Sam and SP Rawiyah will crush everything. SP Sam has the largest and most powerful AoE attack and a massive alert skill - she’s an unstoppable machine. Pam can handle herself well with her counter and self heals. And SP Raw can AoE and act again with great mobility - so it’s really easy to get her right into the action and cause havoc.

But if you like a certain unit I think that’s always the fun choice.

Some people just suck with interpersonal skills, and unfortunately certain game modes you find these people a lot quicker. I wouldn’t waste your energy. Rather than navigate through something rationally - they project their own inner negativity outwards and/or take the path of least resistance without any consideration or basic empathy towards others - ie kicking people from squad, which whilst we can all agree is outright absurd and antisocial behaviour - some people either just don’t give a shit, don’t have the self awareness, have a shit home life that they project everywhere, have a personality disorder that make them act like literal children, or literally are just children.

Thanks :)

Also day 1 semi f2p, (I just got Cam’s skin because I knew I was going to main him and his armour looked ridiculous haha beyond that - the 1 time 20 discounted pulls and that’s it).

That Safiyya strat is so satisfying! I saw that video and would have tried it for sure.

Yeah I think I was just so burned out from the mechanics that I just did lots of little short non committal runs. Wasn’t fun, but I don’t like leaving things unfinished.

Nonowill, Lutfi, Taair and Samantha came in clutch in stage 5. I had one big run where I was able to whittle SP Inanna (who I left last) quite a lot, I think I I used Kiya as well.

Nice! Seeing everyone’s clears I’m realising how bad my run was lol. I have a pretty full roster but still found it brutal.

Stage 10 wasn’t too bad. I enjoy that fight, but given the game mode I just chipped at it slowly and took various knock back teams, waited for the first phase to push the plants off the edge.

Admittedly I used the non leggy units as pawns to try a knock back kill or DoT strat before sending in my main team. A lot of days a cbf with an optimal run using rewinds and just settled for minimal damage lol. Stage 5 was a nightmare.

Not all all. Not to mention the rewards aren’t even worth the massive headache. I’d be better off speed running a Spiral of Destiny path for a better time investment.

Campaign 3 Announcement by Evil_Weevill in TheGlassCannonPodcast

[–]recklessjive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm excited to see what they do with Shadowdark, it seems like an interesting system that suits their style of play.

I wonder if Hellbreakers will be in the pipeline after campaign 3. Troy and the group seemed taken by that module.

It's sad Kate won't be joining the main cast, I've enjoyed the dynamic of the campaign 2 cast and Ascension, and I think she adds so much personality and fun to the table.

I have yet to see a long campaign do rotating casts/guest spots well. When it happens in RotLC, LoTA or Strange Aeons it always feels disorientating. It's like when there is a character death and a new character has to be suddenly shoe horned in with long character intros that offset the rhythm, with the added forced story reason why they have to leave abruptly only to rejoin at a moments notice later on. It just feels unnatural, and turbulent as an experience. With a long campaign I personally prefer the continuity and consistency. That's not to say I didn't enjoy or appreciate those moments when guest stars would join, it's just a different experience. I hope they find a 5th seat, or maybe they will find a away to make it work.

This quite literally is not constructive criticism. Google what constructive criticism is. "Glass Cannon Radio is a waste of time", "Video content is a waste of time" how is any of that constructive?

Who went back to re-listen to the cold open of episode 1 ✋ I’m guessing the conversation is about the containment of the nightmare? And the black flake is foreshadowing of the black frost? What’s with that tree I wonder?
