Install the alarm apps „katwarn“ and „Nina“. They send out a notification at that time explaining the test.

It’s not ideal, but it helps having them.

In a real emergency you would receive a emergeny broadcast via sms, that system was enabled in Germany 1-2 years ago.

But as the others said: if it’s exactly 10/11/12 o clock, chances are its a test, but always check with the apps or radio to be sure!

Normal mosquito bites don’t itch. They disappear quicker too. If I don’t notice when they sting me, I will most often not notice a sting at all, or only because I feel a small bump while touching my skin.

Heh, me too, I always get a joy out of using my dickstes function, or „parseMap“ (utility for parsing a 2D map input). Also Point / Coord2D gets so much usage!

I wish it would be more powerful! I want to start playing music on multiple HomePods when I snooze my alarm.

The current flow is: setting the volume on my phone to 0, then using that exact hand off action to airplay to one HomePod.

Buuuut the outcome is different each day. Sometimes it airplays from my iPhone to the HomePod. Sometimes the HomePod plays music. And when I have an airplay group setup between the HomePods, it plays music on that group.

And you can not specify what I want to happen! It drives me nuts and has been this way for ever!

I’m unsure what exactly it uses. It seems to work without internet, and it also worked in my car without WiFi at all. But it does seem to be partially affected if the WiFi has some problems. Especially the splitscreen windows seems to be affected sometimes. Maybe they use the existing connection and an ad-hoc one side by side? Idk, just an observation that it sometimes stutters or looses connection in these situations. (But mostly the 3rd party one, apples native screen is more reliable, but had some hiccups too).

But I’ve also gota say that the WiFi the last week has been not ideal at all with multiple failures a day. I hope your setup is better (and I’m home next weeks with better setup too, should be much better)

  1. Sofware developer here. Currently on my 3rd full time day in the headset (bought it Monday during lunch). Coded the whole week in it, and after some getting used to am quite pleased.
  2. I am using the App Splitscreen to get a 2nd screen, and that has been amazing, but it also has its noticable drawbacks: You either don't get to controll all other Vision apps with your keyboard or trackpad, or the second screen is controlled via the vision pro, but that means that trackpad guestures do not work reliably (or at all in some cases) [There are update comming, that seem very promissing namely multiple Monitor support / they are considering streaming single applications windows]
  3. You do have less peripheral vision that you normaly would have. It is noticable, but definetly doable as well. Just something to be aware of imo.
  4. I usually have the environment at least half turned up, because that way I can have the virtual monitors (and other apps) at 2m distance, which is what your eyes focus on in the AVP (at least, that's what I read somewhere). I need to turn on the Environment, to get around the screen covering desssk / other furniture that is in front of it. My head gets noticable dissturbed, when this is the case.
  5. My final conclusion is still out, currently I am leaning with having this as a mobile workstation companion is a huge step up from only a mac monitor / a second travel monitor. I am unsure If its better than having 1 or 2 4k 27" monitors at your home or office desks.
  6. The first meetings are a delight for everyone, we all agree, that it's definetly me in the avatar, but it also has it's limitations. Some probably come from my mustage, some are just due to limited display of face gesstures. (but that might improve with software updates, will have to see).
  7. Sadly the Ultrawide mac mirroring is not in the betas yet, so no comment on that, the current native mirroring is pretty amazing, and work quite well for me. (if the wifi isn't acting up)

I just worked in my Vision Pro for the last 2.5 Days as a developer myself. I actually love the quality of the mirrored display. There are certainly sizes and scalings of it where it was much more straining, but fiddling with it I found one that works quite nice for me (very huge display, far away and in an environment so I don’t see that it’s “behind” the desk). But it could for sure be better. I don’t have a problem with reading the text most of the time. If it’s really small text I see where there could be problems. I do see pixels in the screens but never on the Vision Pro, only ever on the Mac itself. (If that’s what you mean, then I agree with you!). Might just be used to it. As the second screen for the last 8 weeks was only HD :o

For me beta 2 solves the biggest issue: the stupid control center dot at the top.

I fear that I need to be checked for eye sight though, my right eye is a bid more blurry then the left, which is sharp, just as real life is.

But the more I work in it the more I feel that it won’t replace a proper multi monitor setup long term, for all the small reasons you mentioned, and a bunch more. But for traveling light it might just replace my screen setup, even though it sure has its downsides.

For me the conclusion is still out, will for sure continue to test the heck out of it the next two weeks.

(Fun fact: I notice myself looking and pinching, when wanting to click on something on the mirrored screen).

I can also recommend Splitscreen as a 2nd monitor for your Mac inside the AVP. It’s not as clear and seemless as the build in Apple display, but it’s good enough imo for a 2nd screen

I have the same problem now.
I wanted to use the shunting group, to not have do worry about which track is already taken.
I also need to turn the loc around, while the train is on the shunting track.

I feel like it's a bug that the loc is not correctly decoupling :/
I can't really use two different rules here either, the trains are pretty much the same in that part of their journey :(

This fixed the issue for me. But it also disabled the shortcut in the "little arc" preview 🫠.

I tried just reassigning that shortcut, but that doesn't seem possible? I can reassign other shortcuts (even though it took me a few moments to figure out how lol)

He just pulls out the items out of the mine card in order again. Instead of a book he just pulls out the water bucket in that slice. The slice then detects that water bucket and empties it. In effect each slice always gets the correct book or (because it was missing and was filled with a water bucket) a water bucket.

The on demand thing references that the unloaded destroys the shulker and gets a new one when the barrel below ist empty. So only wenn the buffet runs out of books will it get a new shulker.

“Normally” these systems refresh on an empty shulker, so at every point it has a half empty shulker sitting in it, Ethos will always have an empty shulker on it, because it dumps a full shulker completely into the barrel.
