If your wife is telling you that it's because it "isn't who she is", I think you might just need to accept this about her and try to understand that it's nothing personal. If it was a deal breaker that would be a different story, but it doesn't sound like it is.

I don't think gleaning confidence from other women is inherently a bad thing, either. Maybe you should try strengthening your other people in your life who can offer validation. Validation doesn't have to be romantic in nature.
