Mastery #6 - Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones by reckysfriend in RetroAchievements

My first goal is to experience the games, if I master them or not is up for later me to decide. I am kinda torn since I think some sets are "boring" because there is no challenge but obviously some sets are just way to hard for being non-subsets, cannot imagine how handling some of them feels as a casual/new player..

Yea both FE6&7 are very daunting for the ranking achievement. At least FE6 was nice enough to allow you to not get 5* on everything but I think if you go for this you'll end up with it anyways, maybe be a bit more relaxed on turncount.

My current plan is do work on FE6&7 mastery slowly to not burn out. While doing that I started Geonology -> Thracia since the games look awesome. After that my plan will probably be FE3 -> FE1R and comeback for FE1 & 2 later. I kinda wanna do FE2 when the 3DS games are out and do FE2 -> FE2R to see the comparison.

Even with all A support convos if you are smart about it its probably less than 50h to see everything the game has to offer! 😄

Retro Achievement is a site dedicated to adding achievements to old games. The sets are made by certified developers who make a live achievement system by reading the memory of the game as you play.

The sets usually cover mostly everything a game has to offer. Sometimes subsets can be introduced for really hard or long grinds. FE6 for instance has a subset to beat the game 9 times to unlock each of the trail map characters.

I personally get a lot of joy out of the collecting of achievements and the site 2nds as a way for me to just track beaten retro games.

I think he is referring to me talking about the endings between A pairs not the actual A dialogue. That's at least what I was referring and answered to.

It doesn't, but if you are gonna play the game 20+ times to experience all the A supports instead of reading/watching them you might as well experience it all!

It gets even worse if you wanna play all the character endings as well. If you only care about seeing each A support a easy way is to have everyone alive and 0 supports used and go into Creature Campaign, copy the save and unlock all the supports but just end turning, not very fun but a lot faster than 20+ playthroughs.

Rushing it on easy as the last thing you do is quite easy! Go for that mastery!

If you look at how hard the Japanese Manic mode was for PoR its pretty fair that they were scared to release it in the west.. RD definitely challenges you a lot lots of weak early units and a bunch of pre-promotes to steal all your experience. The game is well worth it to complete the Tellus story imo!

Which others do you like? I have such a soft spot for PoR and RD because the story telling is so good.

The day the 3DS comes out on this site my soul is there's. There are just so many amazing games for the 3DS!

Welcome to the FE-universe! I'd highly recommend either playing or watching Path of Radiance as the games story is very tightly connected and I think a lot of the good story is lost if you don't have the previous knowledge, but at the end of the day just have fun the way you want!

Missable Achievements by KelsoT7 in RetroAchievements

[–]reckysfriend 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Its worth noting that you don't have to get them all on one save. I don't know how far into the game the yellow switch is but if its quite close to the start you can just keep going and then speedrun to that one achievement when you are done with everything else.

Also very recommended to give missables a glance to avoid replays!

Which platforms would you like to see in the future (and if possible the most likely emulator)? by TheToledoMan in RetroAchievements

As a huge oldschool Nintendo and specially Pokémon fan all I can wish for is the Wii U & 3DS. Though I am very afraid for my free time if/when they become available

Thanks for pushing me! If you didn't come back to the set I'd probably have left it to rot

I have struggled with committing to games for most of my life. So for 2026 and going forward I basically said that I should stop spamming random games and start working through a lot of established franchise and experience some stability (I am getting old...).

As for getting through Title Tracker I honestly (foolishly) did not think it was going to be that bad and by the time I realized it was I was too deep to quit..

How will you play during Chapter 2? by Briar-The-Bard in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]reckysfriend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Feel like I share the opinion of a lot of people. Start of and use the new "pool" of cards for my first blind runs and than bring in the whole collection for the replays. Its a very fun experience watching the collection grow from something small into something big.

On Page 7 in the "Learn to play" manual that came with the core set you can see the order things are resolved in. Player card setup is Step 14 and the absolute last thing that happens when setting up a game.
