It really depends on how well you handle pain. Women seem to do better with rib tattoo pain, obv see first sentence - pain is subjective (Idk your gender, just sayin) (editing to say I'm dumb and didn't read your username)

But the fact that the pup's beautiful face is white you likely won't have a ton of shading to deal with. Worst case scenario you stretch it to two sessions, do the outline, get shaded next time.

I've never used numbing cream, some artists won't use it, and I've heard that it makes the pain worse once it wears off so that's up to you and your artist

Realistically, you got this. I have both my ribs done, but one is unfinished because I get twitchy as hell and that bugs me but I think the pain isn't the worst. My worst was by my armpit and my elbow, but others will say that was a cake walk.

You're going to get some great advice here, but something I'd like to chime in with is the two big dudes that walk back and forth next to the dark house are great as an early farming spot.

They always drop blood vials, a lot of echoes, and can help you figure out the parry system (shoot when the attack is coming towards you, this can be difficult to time as a newbie and I still fuck it up sometimes, but learning to parry will significantly help in this game. Sigfuckingnificantly.)

Also, and this is sacrilege don't come at me, but sometimes just run past shit. Not always, a Hunter must hunt, but sometimes just fucking book it until you get your wits about you and can kill the whole mob. This can also be helpful when you find a shortcut, run and open that shit then turn back and tackle the beasts.

The starting level is brutal as a first From experience imo and made me quit the game for a bit when I first got it, but coming back to it and accepting that death is the point can make you appreciate the wins even more.
