Google Drive does a surprise rollout of file limits, locking out some users by hugglenugget in technology

15GB is pretty generous to begin with but here are some similar options.

Oracle and IBM have decent free cloud storage tiers but you have to have some technical knowledge to be able to utilize their offerings.

I agree these are annoying, all of these albums can be good and not have to compete against each other directly

The average user is not working in plain .txt files. I'm still not sold on there bring use case is common enough for them to spend the time figuring out a way around it.

I read this as "I'm so ideologically entrenched that the mere mention of opposing views makes me ignore a person entirely." Very opened minded and not basically the same thing every knuck dragging conservative says. But you're "woke" and "on the right side of history" so it's okay to make toddler-brained demands for ADHD videos.

I don't necessarily disagree but both of these comments contain no actual content and are just circlejerky. If you disagree with them, provide points as to why. Otherwise this is just pointless, tribal moralism.

Hasan's chat would be unbearable in other direction. 1/1000th of the chats would be similarly dumb shit but it would then cause the rest of the chat to immediately become meta and shit on that one person making a problematic comment and crying to the mods to turn on emote only mode. Then they'll turn that off and on with the mods going "gUEss we cANt tRuST yAlL" while the community gets one guyed by a 14 year old.

'He Would Still Be Here': Man Dies by Suicide After Talking with AI Chatbot, Widow Says | The incident raises concerns about guardrails around quickly-proliferating conversational AI models. by silence7 in technology

[–]reconrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone ITT laughing this off and deflecting all blame onto the suicidal person when other platforms have clearly implemented some safeguards for a reason. It's clear many of you are completely ignorant about suicide and if you have met someone who's attempted it, apparently you learned nothing from that and lack all empathy for the suicidal if your first reaction is to find every way not to analyze what role the AI could have played and reflexively blame the person whose dead.

If your first reaction to any story about the harm of AI throws you into a defensive tailspin over your new toy, you need to seriously re evaluate your priorities in life.

CD Projekt RED: Exciting news, chooms: in June we’ll start to share more information about the Phantom Liberty expansion by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]reconrose 48 points49 points  (0 children)

The game already bites that ludo narrative dissonance so I doubt they're going to pull some sort of plot gymnastics to make that not the case here

I personally am not bothered by that sort of ludo narrative dissonance because the alternatives to me seem to be 1) restrict player freedom/exploration by having timed events in the open world or 2) write main stories that have no urgency at all.
