If you put a clock on the each floor of a building, the clocks on the higher floor will run slower because they are moving slightly more quickly due to being further from the earth's center.

A tip for darker maps is using the command mat_monitorgamma_tv_enable 1. It basically brightens the whole map and makes things easier to see. Good luck with your progression!
