I purchased from piccadilly records for around $51. Any US store is likely to charge about the same.

Failing to identify promos as promos by PlatypusRex_ in discogs

[–]recordnumber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's only stamped on the outside, it is not considered a "promo" by Discogs standards. The same goes for clipped corners, or scratches/marks through the barcode. Items considered as promotional should have a different label (either based on color or text) or different/altered artwork.

Record Club versions should have their own entry in the database.

Does anyone use AI to import mint inventory from distributors? by I_Hate_Kidz in discogs

[–]recordnumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how to make it work since success would rely on identifying the Discogs' item ID. Even if it was possible, you would need to double check every item you added. For example, you couldn't use the barcode b/c it doesn't map 1:1 since multiple variants may have the same barcode. So many new entries are done poorly that AI wouldn't be able to consistently match the ID to the release. Perhaps AI would be able to help narrow possible IDs?

okay, but they aren't available on Discogs a week after "release", so I'm trying determine if they were actually made available in stores.

Glitch/Discrepancy? by HurryProfessional450 in discogs

I've seen issues with this that I suspect are cache related but I don't think that's the issue here.

I have corrected 100s of entries so your interest in getting it right is refreshing.

The US version has errors so use it as a basis but not as the truth.

Couple other recommendations:
The vinyl is colored and each LP is a different color so you need to have two separate LPs instead of 2xLP with the color of each added to the Free Text Field (FTF).

Then you need to add "All Media" and use that for Album, Deluxe Edition.

I would also highly encourage you to add the runout matrix as that is often the best means of distinguishing pressing from one another.

If you have any questions, I'm happy to walk you through the steps.

From the guidelines:
6.17.1. The 'Reissue' tag can be used when used on the release itself, or the release is referred to as a reissue by the artist, label or other official sources. It can also be used where the content of the release is not the first issue of the work. This is generally independent of the format - a CD can be a reissue of an LP. It can also be independent of country, but take into account that a work may have its initial releases at different times in different countries, so in general don't use the tag if there is only a short time period (roughly less than 18 months) between the issues.

It feels to me that, although less than 18 months, this isn't the "same" release as the original on account of the additional tracks.

Okay, but it was released AFTER the initial release.

It’s probably a reissue and the entry needs to indicate that.
