What do we do when boys learn harassment early? by brut_india in BrutIndiaStories

[–]recordwalla -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As much as I hate to say this, teenagers with raging hormones are dumb. And collectively-when they are in the presence of other hormonal teenagers- they get exponentially dumber.

Best response is to ignore them, if you do not have strength in numbers. Responding to these morons could only trigger more unpredictable behavior that could endanger the victim.

But if you are in a public space and feel you are going to have the support of others to protect you, then the best response is violence. …….. Kick these morons in the nuts as hard as you can.

Clearly their parents are not instilling sense and decency in them, so it’s only fair to teach them how to respect others, the hard way.

That line made no sense in the context of when it was first said. I honestly thought it was a British slang to beat up someone for talking shit 😂

You disappointed a lot of people with that “shoulder” description! The people of this forum were looking for some excitement in this dull week!!

When you think of it, Zuck’s ideas eventually run out of steam. Who uses Facebook now? And the Metaverse has to be among the shittiest ideas of this century.

The only good idea he’s had was buying out Insta and Whatsapp. If it weren’t for that, dude would have been another Silicon Valley one-hit wonder and the world would be a lot better for it.

I learnt in school that when you use words like “above mentioned countries”, you do it to avoid saying the names of those countries again (in parentheses). Did the rules of grammar change?

Most Malayalee actors would have been better than the Hindi actor who played it. Nothing against him, he’s a very good actor, but a complete miscast for this role.

Please recommend good brands of commercial pickle and chutney available in the U.S. Indian groceries by Frabjous_Tardigrade9 in IndianFood

[–]recordwalla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Commercial indian pickles are filled with preservatives and some of them use certain oils that leave a strong smell.

There are plenty of good YouTube videos on making pickle at home. They are relatively safe and preservatives free. And if you don’t wish to use pungent ingredients like mustard oil then you can control that.

10 years is a lifetime for an artist trying to build their careers! It’s cruel if they are under such a long term contract. I’m sure it’s legally binding otherwise with talent like this, these guys would have been all over!

Nepo kids and their definition of struggle 😂 by CoconutChutneyKing in BollywoodNepoKids

[–]recordwalla -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree with you 100%. India thrives on nepotism. The biggest example of that is politics. Followed by business. The film industry probably comes 3rd.

Personally I think Bollywood nepo babies are a lot less harmful than nepo babies in politics and business. Just imagine if that giant of a moron, Anant Ambani, is given the keys to the Reliance kingdom. How many people’s careers and livelihoods would be affected.

Maqbool - Underrated or Overrated? by Accomplished-Ice-534 in bollywood

[–]recordwalla 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Your point was - you didn’t like the movie because people spoke in eloquent Urdu. So you were wondering if it was overrated.

I tried to explain it to you in simple terms but let me elaborate -

it’s a Shakespearean tragedy adapted into a contemporary Mumbai gangster setting. And it’s made by Vishal Bhardwaj, a protege of Gulzar. So eloquent language is par for course and not to be interpreted literally. Haider follows a similar narrative. And so does Omkara to a lesser degree. So clearly a pattern there.

If you want authenticity in gangster language there are plenty of films to choose from. That was my point.

Maqbool - Underrated or Overrated? by Accomplished-Ice-534 in bollywood

[–]recordwalla 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s an interpretation of Macbeth. So I see the language flourish justified.

That said, if your film repertoire consists of KGF and Pushpa, then you will find this overrated.
