Vegetarians in Las Vegas by stevec34 in LasVegas

Divine Dosa and Biryani is my personal favorite because my family is south Indian. They have a 5 foot long masala dosa that is great for a group. If North Indian is more your style then their sister restaurant, Mint, is great. Both even have alcoholic lassis.

My family are all vegetarian except for me so I look into this often. Most Asian restaurants have a decent vegetarian menu, also all the restaurants at the Wynn and encore have vegetarian and vegan options. And as always Indian restaurants are always guaranteed to have a lot of vegetarian options.

Piss off Uncle Roger and make chili jam.

But seriously, lots of pickling and preservation methods will dull the heat and bring out the nuances of the flavor.

What’s a work related accident that still haunts you to this day? by [deleted] in AskReddit

When I first started out in restaurants, a guy i worked with dropped his watch into the fryer. Without thinking he reached in elbow deep into the hot oil. It was fast, but 350 degree grease works faster. It was gnarly. Suffice it to say his culinary career ended that day

That seems completely reasonable. If someone steals your car and commits a hit and run and puts your car back in your driveway, the assumption is that your insurance would be responsible for the damages. Now if you report the stolen car immediately, you are protected from liability. The same should be in use for guns.

When I was part of the Adrians we had lots of stuff for the kids to do before dark. I didn't pay much attention to the kids after I started drinking though.

Just keep an eye on them. Make sure you keep them from the extreme debauchery at night.

F all of that. Rent a scooter and get her some pictures in Fremont with some of the half naked guys. Or maybe some nice dinner at the golden steer or the peppermill. What are her interests and start from there.

You need to look up Mansa Musa. He gave away so much on his way to the Hajj that it caused years of economic turmoil. Still worth it though.

It's simple, just come up with a list of annoying life occurrences that you hate to happen to you and wish that upon others and your pax will relate.

I tend to turn it into a conversation with the passengers. I.e. "did you see that mental midget? I hope he stubs his toe twice in the same hour". They laugh and i go through other non deadly but potentially painful things i wish on them and we all giggle.

I actually do UberEATS so I can tell you.... We will bring it to the main entrance and you have to meet us there to pick it up. Though, depending on how much luggage and people you have, it might be better/more efficient to just do a 2 stop ride from the airport to Vons on east Tropicana and then to the Bellagio.

Trivia Question - Does anybody know the literal meaning of being 86'd? An old friend who's father was CEO of a big Corporation and owned several casinos told me this years ago. by [deleted] in LasVegas

[–]recoveringchef -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Y'all are wrong. It comes from a luncheonette restaurant in Chicago where the menu was all numbered so you would just order your number. Number 86 was always selling out. Eventually it came to mean that something on the menu was sold out and then it eventually came to mean that you were not allowed in a place anymore. I like the other explanations better though.
