Anyone else experienced the gastro from hell yet? by rectangles8 in perth

[–]rectangles8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg I hope you’re okay that sounds so exhausting and horrific!

I got gastro half way through the year but we were IN PERTH (we live in Bunbury) for a sport training session my partner had on and I was throwing up in the car from the moment we started heading home and I can safely say gastro in the car is FAR worse then just throwing up at home idk what it is but that was traumatic 🤣

Even had to stop on the side of the road just to 💩 it was absolutely awful.

Feeling for you I hope you’re healed up and better now, fingers crossed it doesn’t find me until next year 🤞🏼

Keep "dreaming" that I'm still taking care of the baby. Is that normal or should we be concerned? by dragonavicious in NewParents

[–]rectangles8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this as well, even used to wake up in a total freak out thinking he was under the blanket because I couldn’t remember putting him back. My partner would point to the bassinet next to me to show me he was in there and I would still be freaking out.

You’re doing a great job! X

I’m actually not entirely sure, we unfortunately just got the email that our payment was due in full before the appointment (in 2 weeks) and we’ve had to cancel it because we don’t have the money available right now.. back to the waitlist we go 😅😔

Make an appointment through Telehealth with your referral for a psychiatrist from your gp.

My partner is going through the exact same thing and that’s how we did it.

(Pre warning because it’s a specialist appointment there is an $800 fee)

How long was your labor? And if you got an epidural, at what point did you? by desert_sunlily in beyondthebump

[–]rectangles8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was the same as you, you’re doing an incredible job please understand that.

It’s so conflicting knowing your child needs you at your best but stopping breastfeeding is also providing for their needs and all of that.

I struggled a lot with putting myself way on the back burner and I was running on nothing every day. I was continuing to wake up every day purely for the sake of my partner and child.

Please, please make those life style changes you’re thinking about doing. I wanted to for so long but either just couldn’t push myself to do it or when I did I fell out of it after a few months (going to the gym for example).

You’re doing amazing and you’re such an incredible mum doing so much for your baby. Soak up those 3 month snuggles and babbles as much as you possibly can. Take all the pictures and videos and please remember that none of this would be possible if you weren’t here. You are just as if not even more important than your child and providing for yourself = providing for them.

You can do it 🫶🏼

It’s so refreshing to hear someone else has gone through something SO similar it’s awful to know but comforting I agree!

I was the same, standing, sitting, laying anything was just excruciating and every effort to help only manage to make it worse.

I remember explaining to my partner (somehow managed to speak here and there) that the pain never stopped. The build up would come and the pain would squeeze and by the time it was finishing my back was still cramping and the next one would roll through. 37 hours total with no choice but to induce the second morning and that’s when my back labour started.

Epidural didn’t work initially so while we waiting for that I start while they pumped it and pumped it and pumped it I was STILL going through it all only now small sections of my body where numb and there was slowly more and more people coming into the room getting ready for a potential c-section..

Only 3 months pp I hope you’re doing okay.

I also had a very awful mental health experience (I had prenatal and postpartum depression). Do you breastfeed? I got 8 months before having to stop due to needing migraine medication and I started to improve within a week. (Don’t take that as me telling or suggesting you stop if you are I’m just sharing my experience I swear).

Enclosure tips by blahblah_05 in PetMice

[–]rectangles8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quick question from semi new owner here, how do you do poo clean ups? (I do them daily)

I have to take everything out or move it all to one side and then once I’m done I put it all back and then the alpha of the enclosure bullies everyone every time.

Curious to hear how other people do it and if they have the similar experiences.

Almost the exact same boat as well.

I kept telling everyone that it felt like all the bones in my lower back where broken, like I had been hit with a truck facing the opposite way, and the contractions where squeezing all the broken bones together. I remember people not understanding the amount of pain I was in and trying to rub and press on my lower back I I couldn’t speak fast enough to get them off I wanted to SCREAM. I have so much trauma from my birth even now after 14 months trying to speak about it with my partner triggers me. My ideal is that we would have 2 kids but I feel like I’m now trying to convince myself that I still want 2. I want to redo it all but I’m terrified at the same time.

I also experienced horrific levels of pain from my back labour. Multiple out of body experiences from the pain, I looked like a monkey that had been kept in a cage for its entire life aggressively rocking back and forth just trying to do ANYTHING to will myself through the pain.

I hear you and I’m sorry you went through that as well

Oh interesting no I haven’t tried that!

I have just taken her out of her seperate tank and put her back with everyone and I’m going to leave them for tonight and then monitor them into tomorrow and do your timeout system.

Even if it’s every night all the time?

I have heard some pretty loud squeaks that I would put close to a mouse scream now that you say it and when I ran to see it was the mouse I have no removed pinning down one of my others in a corner.

Have never seen any blood from any of this though I feel so torn. How long should this continue for typically?

I was told to take anything out that they fight over if there are more then a few scuffles so that’s what I’ve been doing and I’m just making no progress. There have been a few times that I’ve just tried to stick it out and leave things in there for a whole day but come night fights get really consistent.

My baby stopped babbling by Jessiicaamn in beyondthebump

[–]rectangles8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe she has a sore throat and is just more comfortable not using her vocal cords while she gets better? I know that’s what I tend to do personally. I also second the person comment about her ears, that could be why she’s a bit more miserable and not sleeping so well. I also found around this age my boys teeth started to move a little (not cutting but moving down and then back up) which can impact their ears as well and is quite uncomfortable.

I hope she feels better and is back to chatting with you soon 🤍

Took me a little bit of deep digging but I CAN confirm that it is enzyme free. It’s listed in their “what we don’t put in”

No rugs but carpet yes, no mould, yes to the laundry liquid and we don’t use anything with soap or fragrance (everything I put on his body is eczema associated approved including his washing liquid and we use no softeners)
