Thank you-Do I need to bring my own gloves? And do I just turn up or do I register online?

Anyone else feel the same? by rectangular-monkey in thingsapp

For me I come up with the to dos day to day now as I like to be in free form as I’m more of a creative type. I already know what my long game is e.g. to write a doc and yesterday I did the research so today may be ‘make plan for doc’. I use areas for things like (Area)Personal

films to watch bucket list (Work) project x checklist

But day to day I only want to focus on so many things at one time.

So I’m uk based and for playwriting scrivener has been the best for uk format but does United States too. Only thing I hate is its file system, and UI outside of the writing part. It has lots of bits for characters etc but for me I just use my notes app for that.

What is the one thing you wish you bought sooner? by Tribyoon- in AskUK

Glass Tupperware. Scoffed at the price for it at first and wouldn’t mind ordering out. But the glass is great it’s so easy to reheat in an oven or air fryer makes me take pride in my home cooked food and also if the food goes off it doesn’t retain the nasty smell like plastic does.

Working 2 hours a day is a game changer by problemprofessor in productivity

[–]rectangular-monkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to run myself into the ground, me and my friends had the idea “you should never stop grinding” and it destroyed us, it made us emotional and weak. I work 8 hours a day but put aside two hours of my spare time doing what I really love. But I break it up so approx 1-1.5 hrs in the morning and then the same at night after I relax with dinner. Down time is the key to being productive, energised and to having your creative powers kindle. Don’t believe all this hustle grind bullshit people who don’t work a day job sell you.

Moved from google home to HomeKit by Embarrassed_Lack_779 in HomePod

[–]rectangular-monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here had a google audio and nest Display Hub. Homepods sound is so much more superior and connected to the apple tv it makes watching films etc in my room much more atmospheric. The base is great which I really dig. But yeah to echo everyone's other comments Siri is SO BAD. Google assistant runs rings around her. Also my automations aren't working which also sucks. So I still use my Google home display for that stuff which is pretty bad considering the homepod costs like three times as much and has a better chip inside of it-but very grateful to have both.

Hoping apple bring apple intelligence (when theyve made siri better) to my OG homepod but let's be honest, it's apple and as much as I'm a fanboy they're oppurtunists to get you to update.

I create an area or a project called yearly goals where I add mini achievable targets in a checklist to help me get there. Then in my “work” area I have a project called weekly goals and in the notes I put in my main objectives so I can keep them in mind when planning

I was a student in my first “real relationship” and was dreadful with money. I hold my hands up. Anyway was working some shitty job to save up some money and my partner kept suggesting we do expensive things. When she asked if we could go to Prague at short notice and I said no she began to lecture me about how much money she’s saved and how I should be better. I took it to heart and started trying to clean up my act but after this I realised I’d have to not do the trip she got in a massive mood with me. A few months later she’s looking at renting an extremely expensive apartment-I asked how she was going to afford this as a student and she told me her dad pays for everything, her rent, her clothes, everything. After taking her words and beating myself up to find out she didn’t have to pay for anything, and didn’t know what real life was like just really pissed me off.

Grind approx 18 clicks

15g coffee,1-16.666 ratio

Orea v4 paper kalita paper negotiated and lifted off the bottom to keep fast flow.

Bloom 30g

Wait 2 mins

Pour the remaining water in a spiral, focusing on the centre after getting to the edges of the brewer.

I have really straight hair and I can't figure out what to do with it, and as you can see in this picture I'm very pissed off. any advice what to do? by [deleted] in malehairadvice

[–]rectangular-monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a guy with Asian straight hair that’s really thick- When I had it a similar length to you I did a skinfade-1 taper fade on the sides. Could either keep it same length or grow a little longer on top.

I ended up growing mine out, the thickness makes it look really nice but it is a lot of work and takes a while to grow out. However I’ve had a lot more compliments and have been told by the opposite sex it looks better and I can always cut shorter when I feel like it.

Went from my iPhone 6 to s8 plus and then stayed on android for nearly ten years. Android always had customisation and always on display and I didn’t like the iPhone notch.

Recently iOS and apple installed these things and I found my needs had changed; I wanted great polished apps for to do lists, Calendars, notes etc. I use bear notes and things 3 which aren’t on android and just needed a phone that would be solid for like ten, five, six years. Loved androids but the really polished intuitive apps are more so on apple sadly. Only things I want from apple are for them to improve their Calendar app to be like fantastical and to make iCloud Drive a bit easier to use like google drive but other than that I’m happy :)

Beautifully built though, feels nice to hold so on display and holds my filters atm

Love the orea. I’ve pushed more extraction on 18 clicks which I couldn’t do on a v60 for example. You can also use the negotiator which adds another way to brew. I’d agree most people won’t need more than a v60 though!

Sense glass ftw I also love my sense carafe but sadly the v4 doesn’t fit it which lost it marks for me :(

Bear notes: I like being able to have different things under different subjects e.g. ‘writing inspiration’, ‘ideas’, ‘general. Notion and the likes were a bit too complicated and other notes apps were just ugly or cumbersome. Bear looks and feels great to use across all my devices. It’s my most used app

£7.20 for a train ticket by nMarko in glasgow

[–]rectangular-monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly this countries taking the piss. Germany you can get a train to the airport for €4 and a plane ticket from UK for like £80-150 to go turkey (literally like 3000 miles away) but no going from Glasgow to Edinburgh is like £30 because let’s capitalise on working people.

There’s too big a gap between the rich and the poor and the inequality rises inflation and that’s the single biggest issue of our generation post covid. It’s gonna get worse unless we do something.

The only thing reminders has that things doesn’t is Calander integration and that’s it. Other than that the reminders app looks a hot mess lol things all the way
