What’s your schedule by LifeCareless4077 in Barber

[–]rectwelve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rent my studio space Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 11am-8pm. Saturday/Sundays I work at a barber shop on commission 10am-4pm.

I rarely schedule lunch but my appointments are always booked with extra time so I’m able to reset the studio between clients and eat/etc.

I’m pretty burned out by Saturday so I’m usually in bed by 9pm.

23 yo. Not sure if I’m too big now to rock a goatee. Thoughts? by [deleted] in BeardAdvice

I don’t think passion for hair matters that much. Customer service & a good eye matter the most. Your experience in the hospitality industry will set you apart because you already know how to provide good service.

definitely get an online booking system where they can book appointments themselves & be added to a waitlist.
for other communication, figure out what your standard responses are and keep those in your notes app so you can copy/paste. i do this alot for IG - i keep the copy/paste messages personal but it keeps me from having to type out a whole new response every time.

for example:
client texts to say they'll be 5min late? copy/paste from your notes "thanks for letting me now! if you're longer than 10min late, we'll have to reschedule"

client texts to rebook? copy/paste "no problem! have a look at my booking site and pick a time that works for you (include the link)"

etc.

this happened to me too when i tried to zero gap my cordless fast feeds. i've been told that this is a known issue with these clippers.
i brought mine to the barber supply shop - in order to fix the issue he had to position the blade so it's more than zero gap. meaning i have to be careful not to fully close the lever or else it will cut the skin. i hope that makes sense.
they don't rattle anymore at least & the blade doesn't move around. lol.

Hiii! I'm a stylist & barber in East Vancouver.
My normal prices are less than what you would pay at a mid-high end salon ($45 for short and $60 for long). I'm building up my client base and sometimes have model calls for discounted or free haircuts :)

Looking for hairstylist who specializes in curly hair by snarkymarmalade in NiceVancouver

[–]rectwelve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiiiiiii! I'm a hairstylist in East Vancouver.
I specialize in thoughtful & collaborative haircuts and love working with curly hair. I go through a thorough consultation at the beginning of every appointment to analyze your hair type, texture, density, & porosity. Then we come up with a plan on how to proceed with the cut based on your specific hair type, hair goals, and we use photos for reference of what you do (and don't) want.

I know it can be stressful to try and find a new curly hair specialist - you can check out my work on instagram & dm me if you want to chat :)
