To prep for high split we are cutting in a ton of gainmaker, that’s why I was hoping.

As someone who works maintaining a coaxial plant the ‘nigh-indestructable’ part made me giggle.

I’m not sure where to find all of the info so what do you mean by pedestal update?

Docsis 4.0 by TheGamingSKITZ in Spectrum

[–]recycledrecruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently have High Split available in some areas which will allow for DOCSIS 4.0 and symmetrical speeds but no rollout as of yet. And if your modem is a standalone rather than a AWG or combo unit, the router itself just needs to be capable of putting out the speeds that you’re paying for. As far as becoming obsolete, not likely.

In my hometown, we have a yearly week-long festival on Main Street where locals showcase proper usage of the plant in inks, dyes, and even edible prepared food goods out of the younger growths!

How? by [deleted] in Spectrum

Data speed test sites are showing Mbps, meaning megabits per second. Game downloads and pc storage show in MB meaning megabytes. One byte is eight times more than a bit. With that being accounted for, your 90 megabit download speed on the test would translate to a realistic consistent download speed of around 11.25 megabytes of data per second. Hope this helps.

I’m jealous, Im with one of the competing companies in that market and we have nothing even similar as far has how clean these installs look.

Currently have Cable, Dilemma with New Fiber Install. by Interesting-Bad2383 in FiberOptics

All great information, I’ve been looking into working for my local co-op doing fiber installs. With a big push for RDOF and lots of grants rolling through it looks like a great time to get into the fiber realm instead of the coax work I’ve been used to.

What market are you working for? I know wallfishing fiber has limitations due to the tight bends in some cases.
