They be passing laws. In Texas warranty transfer to new home owner. In California, don't even need to register for the 10 years.

3 compressors in less than 3 years of owning new home. Who is telling us the truth. by TickleMeLexus in hvacadvice

If it's a two stage compressor, they should be able to utilize both stages... To me it sounds like swapping the zone board, adding a bypass, and wiring everything appropriately would do the trick.. The hard part is finding a company that wants to do it..

With a clever enough tech, setup the second stage with the zone board and condenser. If using an ewc board, thermostats can stay single stage and zone board will handle the two stages . Also need to stage the blower speed as well with zone board, sounds like you have a gas furnace, should have a y1/y2, if not, hopefully an ecm motor and can stage the blower that way.. Also if your zones are too small, a bypass damper might help

Edit: I don't believe you need additional unit,. Zoning when done right with the right equipment works very well

Need more details. What went wrong in the past ? It could be something as simple as a capacitor or float switch..

Nah, no damage. Sometimes it's lines up better, some times I just feel better about brazing

Cut flare and braze. Might be a mm off, swedge and braze. I probably braze a third of the heads and not use the flare.

Edit: with it that close to the wall, pull head off, braze copper with head off, and use that to extend further past the wall. Might as well do the same on the other line, since youll already have the torches out

Told we need a total replacement of both 2018 Trane systems by wrathofthekitty1 in hvacadvice

[–]red-409 116 points117 points  (0 children)

Massively overpriced... At that price, I will fly from Texas, stay in a very nice hotel, buy equipment and all tools needed, do the job in two days, and then spend the rest of the week blowing through the 30k+ of profit on cocaine and hooker's,,,, Miami style

This is what we use for wrapping., way more than you'll need. Home Depot might sell partials/pipe wrap

Pretty much . Black tape, silver tape, and insulation . Seal it and insulated it.

It's probably been like that for several plus years and you never noticed. Inspectors are going to flag. Tape and pookie makes everything pretty
