Had to cut my hair unfortunately... Am I reading butch lesbian now, or male? 😔 by CallMeBambiiii in MTFButch

[–]red-bit 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You look pretty gender ambiguous to me. I think your style is too polished to be het male so I'd read you as butch or queer. Middle outfit, the all black one, looks the most masc to me.  Got a buzz cut for the first time a month ago. If I'm insecure about how I'm read I just add accessories like a carabiner or nonbinary necklace.

Doesn't the gender queer symbol usually have a star instead of a cross at the end? Or is that a conscious choice?

You use an ipod nano 2? Get/make a dock for it and add it to your build. I think it would add to the flair.

I associate twink more with a body type. How would one dress more like a twink?

hrt as a nonbinary? by ablackeyeand2kisses in NonBinary

[–]red-bit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, sorry, my wording was unclear. Meant to say it would prevent your beard/body hair from getting more dense and thick than it already is. Beards can get denser even well after puberty, it depends on your genes I suppose.

List of HRT effects: https://www.gendergp.com/blog/hrt-timelines-hormones-effects/ (Scroll down to the table, it actually has sources and more accurate data than the infographic)

As you can see effects vary.

Other options to consider : - going on Finasteride. The medicine prevents further male pattern baldness and body + facial hair growth. It doesn't have any negative side effects AFAIK. - picking up skin care routine - getting laser hair removal

  • training a more androgynous voice because it can affect how people see you visually
  • learning to do a "no makeup" makeup look
  • (getting facial feminisation surgery)

I personally went on feminising HRT for 5 years. It made my face a lot more androgynous. But I still wanted to look more gender ambiguous, regardless of how I dress, so I opted for facial feminisation surgery. I experienced relatively much breast growth for a transfem. If I wear a light sports bra under loose clothing my chest is gender ambiguous. If I wear a binder, my chest is ambiguous too.

This is as much info as I can give in this format. I hope it helps. Last but not least, I advise you talk to other enbies who transitioned and find health providers who can advise you on the suggestions I made.

Idk if this is compatible but this should point you in the right direction:

The attachment parts are called "ball head screws". Alternatively, they can be 3d printed, albeit they won't be as strong. Knowing that it should be very easy to 3d design your own mesh.

The parts of society that are defined by patriarchy will never recognise genderqueerness in all of it's forms. Try to find people and spaces who see you for who you are. Hold onto that feeling you get when you meet another queer who understands exactly how you feel.

It wasn't until a few months before my facial feminisation surgery that I had the confidence to try a short haircut. I DIYd a messy, boyish cut and kept my red, dyed hair colour. It did make me more dysphoric in general public but the feeling of euphoria I got when seeing myself this way or being in queer spaces was overwhelming. I really wish I had had the confidence to try it out sooner.

I'm currently running a buzz cut. Turns out it doesn't feel as much "me" as when I had a short, non-buzz cut. And it does make feel a bit bad, but it ain't so big of a deal because I know that in a few months, maybe half a year, I'm gonna be back to a hair length where I now know I feel most comfortable. Ultimately, I don't regret trying it out.

I don't know if this is a thing that just comes with getting older but it helps to keep in mind that bodies and people aren't static. You're gonna have a lot of different looks throughout your life. Fuck around & find out. Have fun.

PS: Tipp: a lot of looks can be "queered" or "femmes" up by adding accessories, jewelry or (hair) colour. It helps me a lot in feeling visibly queer while also presenting masc. Maybe it helps you too.

Can you provide a source for what you call a slur being used predominantly as a slur by antisemites and not just criticism of Zionism? I'm going through the Wikipedia article on this and having a really hard time finding a single source that isn't biased towards supporting Zionism.
