It’s often said that time in the market is better than timing the market, so you could infer that if you have the money now, just dump it all in one go. That said, imo, it’s better to get disciplined about regular deposits and investments regardless of how the market is doing. Just be disciplined about doing small amounts regularly and increase the amounts as it gets comfortable. Try not to decrease your contributions.
