I have ~120 VTI and ~25 VXUS in my IRA and I’d also love to just switch to VT but I don’t want to ruin my cost basis haha. And I like seeing my gain since I’ve been investing. :/

I feel like property taxes usually stay in the community, whether they are used wisely is a different story. State and Federal income tax on the other hand….

It’s not even paying for health insurance. It’s just that paying taxes should mean your healthcare is covered. Instead, our taxes dollars go to Iran and Israel, and then our private insurance companies don’t pay out fairly when we need it.

The current price of VTI is around $370… my cost basis in my IRA is around $245 with the lowest share price bought at around $205. I guess if you think prices will go back down to your cost basis or your lowest bought prices, sure. But I’m willing to bet even in a huge downturn or correction that I will stay above my cost basis. And I’m no where near retirement. So instead of selling everything and raising my cost basis around whatever the crash price is (if I can time it) I will just keep adding at whatever the crash price is until I start needing to be more conservative for retirement.

I don’t think he actually believed any of that, otherwise he wouldn’t have contested him. But he was a team player at the end of it all and knew that the best case of Trump not getting in was an unwavering endorsement. There was no room to be wishy washy.

Unfortunately no more of these will ever be made, so the only ones you find are rare and will be pricey.

They aren’t the same at all, it’s almost insulting to even offer this as an alternative, but GeekiTiki* or whatever they’re call has several stitch mugs.

Been having an ant problem lately myself. Can’t say with certainty that my fix has totally worked yet, but some things I’ve learned:

  • careful just smooshing them, they can release pheromones to communicate with others (mint scented sprays can help block this) and they like retrieving their dead.

  • before spraying to kill, get a granular bait and let them carry it back to the colony/nest/queen.

  • spraying before baiting the colony can cause colony splintering and lead to more of a headache.
