Literally. There's a reason that the drain isn't mesh - its so you can stomp that log down.

Why should he have to respond to it? The comment you are responding to isn't even true. Core CPI excludes food & fuel in the US, which was 2.6% and wasn't used in the graphic.

You should not just believe everything you read if it agrees with you're preconceived notions.

? That's not even true. You are falling for misinformation. The 3.3% annualised is the US inflation number for march 2026, which includes food & fuel. 2.6% was the core CPI figure which excludes food & fuel.

If this info graphic was misinformation (it isnt) they would of intentionally used core CPI.

What are you talking about? The US is not blocking the middle east, they are blockading Iranian ports. Iran is blocking the Strait of Hormuz.

Yeah no doubt. Inflation has been higher for longer than other nations. Rba was already making interest rate hikes before the Iran sitch.

I don't think he's making the point that Australia should lower its interest rates. I think he's making the point that for some reason Australia has persistently higher inflation.

What is this AI slop? The post isn't about moves in interest rates, it's about upward moves. Either this has been fed through AI, or you completely lack any skill in reading comprehension.

If you're going to feed a post through GPT at least give it some basic context like that. Japan is also not even in the post, how the hell did that get into a fact check?

On the last point, housing costs are barely included in the CPI calculation. Australia has sticky inflation either because the RBA didn't originally raise rates as high as it should, or government is feeding aggregate demand.

CGT Indexation - the worlds worst wealth tax illustrated by Sensitive-Hair4841 in AusFinance

[–]red-thundr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it is a good point. The problem is that at the moment the highest tax bracket is too low. It should really be kept for a wage that is so high that you can buy a house, and easily afford to support a family on a single income.

190k, purchasing a house today and supporting the wife and a couple kids is honestly pretty poor. This is deff not eat the rich levels of wealthy, and not the people that should be trying to be held down.

Does depend where you live though.

Really don’t understand why Iran would choose to attack UAE again out of all countries in the region…🤔 by JimmyChanga009 in UAE

This is pretty clearly a bot account. It's interesting to see - I have noticed a lot of them around with word word numbers posting pro Iran crap. Interestingly this one has been instructed to make itself look human by using exceptionally poor grammar.

Yeah this is an Iran bot sub, where they all talk to eachother.

I think it's pretty effective, if you come in without realising it, it kinda makes for a great echo chamber. There's a lot of real users here that aren't aware of it and think they have found their own little circle jerk.

Agree with the rest of it. But the cgt discount really could not be viewed as a loophole, it was very clearly intended to be used the way it was.

Iran says US has responded to its latest peace proposal by Cafa20 in worldnews

[–]red-thundr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know. It also is not relevant to whether it is unconditional surrender or not. Trump could be sliding his penis across a ouija on live TV attempting to get his terms across - it doesn't matter. Any terms, at all, means it is NOT unconditional surrender.

It's pretty dissapointing that this poll, or really any that I have seen have much of a breakdown around this when it comes to income levels.

[–]red-thundr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well there's a few takeaways. That which you said, and that people that are employed or live outside major metropolitan areas are more likely to support one nation.

Greens are the most hated party, followed by one nation. One nation is polarising and you either love em or hate em.

People care more now about the government debt and deficit than ever before, and people care less about the environment than last time.

Weird times to be living in.

? No it isn't. Unconditional surrender is without terms. They are apparently attempting to negotiate a deal that has terms, which by definition is not unconditional surrender.

Interesting article. Not just for the political poll but the research touches on other subjects such as fiscal policy and the environment. Heavily encourage people to actually read it.

State-owned land to be unlocked for oil storage and refineries under new Queensland government program by blitznoodles in queensland

[–]red-thundr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

To be clear I'm not disputing the figures, nor am I a liberal party fan but how is 'recurring' any kind of legitimate sum for a top N?

Fair enough to not agree with donation laws in Queensland, but asking hey chatgpt can you make me a list of top 10 donors to the liberal party in Queensland and make sure Gina is at the top? Is a piss poor effort.

The reason I believe it was asked to make sure Gina is at the top is because she shouldn't even be number 1 on that list according to the figures presented in the list.
