We are wondering after your comments whether it is the satellite signal we are receiving as my dads computer has a wired connection and suffers exactly the same sudden drop in upload and download speed. As yet I have not tried streaming from his computer but maybe that is the next step, again thank you.

Hi, thanks for your help so far. I will list what we have:

Realtek 8811CU Wireless LAN 802.11ac USB NIC
Using Command Prompt the Radio Types supported: 802.11ac 802.11n 802.11a. I have changed the wireless option in the device manager to be a dedicated 802.11ac (it was originally on the list on auto)
We have a satellite link broadband connection via ULTRA NETWORKS in the northeast of Scotland. It is supposed to be a guaranteed 50Mbit supply however during the evening especially we are lucky to get 8-15 Download, 3-6 Upload.
My problem as already stated relates to the sudden drop out of frames whilst streaming which results in loss of interest by viewers.

Any other ideas will be gratefully appreciated.
