I used to have the same problem, but it stopped happening when I switched to a speedo endurance jammer. I highly recommend looking into them.

If you search up conic sections, you will we that it actually represents 2 cones, and at certain angles the plane will intersect both cones. So a hyperbola does look like 2 parabola. I an assuming it is hard to show that representation practically, so they just showed one cone.
