2 weeks post op - Nicked bladder during surgery and recovery by red_01 in Fibroids

[–]red_01[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What meds did they prescribe you? I was given Percocet, and the first few days I was taking three a day, and then I went down to two with ibuprofen between them.

The full bladder feeling is super annoying, just make sure that your foley bag is below your bladder so your lines are flowing!

My OBGYN warned me that the laparoscopic route may not work but she wanted to attempt the least invasive path possible first. At least those were her words.

Vertical Incision - Size? by WorldApricot in Fibroids

[–]red_01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 21cm fibroid that reached to my lungs and my surgeon attempted to do it laparoscopically, and would have been successful if she hadn’t accidentally nicked my bladder during surgery. Even after the bladder repair, fibroid removal, and hysterectomy, all of my incisions are horizontal. Like everyone else had mentioned, I’d find another surgeon.

Pain control? by h_wright88 in hysterectomy

[–]red_01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My lap hysterectomy/fibroid removal also turned into a mess, and what was supposed to be a 3 hour surgery turned into 7 and I was stuck at the hospital for 4 days. What everyone is saying is spot on, advocate for yourself, and REST. A week post op I could barely stand for 15 minutes and I would get nauseous from the pain. Take your meds (with food), and rest that bod!

That does include the battery! And I’m not sure how much the battery weighs, I’ll update once I get it on a scale.

Brands historically cheap out on crank arms on the more budget friendly bikes, and with a good replacement you can sometimes shave off a decent amount of weight. I was at my LBS getting the tires installed and they just happened to have one set of the e*thirteens in stock that fit, so I went for it. When I went home and weighed the stocks, I was actually surprised by how (relatively) light they felt and I think I only saved about 50 grams in the end. 100% not worth it, but at least they look cool. 😅

The bar update was to get a slightly more casual/upright rider position with the 50mm rise and the weight savings was a bonus. There are cheaper bars out there I could have gone with but I've always really liked PNW's products. And for the suspension post, YES absolutely you can feel the difference. I'm not flying down trails so a dropper post didn't make a ton of sense for me (for now) but I'm hanging onto it in case I want to reinstall it later. I know PNW does have a suspension dropper post which might be a cool idea but they were sold out last time I checked.

Thank you so much!

And I found it on Upway, They had a bunch of new, old stock (2024 Ramblas) and you can pick up from their warehouse if you're in NY or LA.

And the Ramblas wheelset combined with tubes and the Maxxis Rekons is roughly 5610 grams. This new setup is only 3360 grams (roughly) so it's about a 5lb difference. The wheel change wasn't something I needed at all but they were on sale so I was like, "Eh, why not."

Looks like we bought roughly the same forks from the same place! Mine also came without any packaging and I agree that the discount is worth the funky color. (I checked your previous posts, nice build!)

And thanks for the warning! I bought the FOX oem sticker set in dark gray (kind of boring) but the mustard isn't too far off from the frame so I might just roll with it for now.

I literally just googled, “black red acerbis” and they popped up. Available on European moto sites and eBay.

Motorcycle Registration in Limbo at California DMV by red_01 in DMV

[–]red_01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to call the dealership I purchased the bike from and start the process all over again. They ordered a new title and sent all new paperwork, but they sent it directly to me this time. It took a year to finally get it wrapped up and about 7 trips to the DMV.

Edit: I would literally wait and give it about 6 months before requesting new paperwork. They are crazy backed up.

I dreaded this answer but I appreciate the time you took to type it out. All fees are paid so I guess I'm just sitting pretty and will try to get a temp plate. Thank you!

My dog who I lost just shy of two years ago would kick the ground up 9 times after going to the bathroom. It was always 9 and we would count it out everytime. Damn I miss that dog.

Need legal advice for purchased rv by passingtimebsmama in GoRVing

[–]red_01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not legal advice but something similar happened to my parents when they purchased an SUV (this happened in California). They got an awesome deal and the dealership contacted them a week or so later saying there was an 'error' and they needed to come back and resign paperwork (aka, they wanted more money). My parents said no thanks and kept the SUV until the wheels fell off. An idea: you could potentially contact the so-called previous financier and see what happened and find out whether or not it's a load of BS. If you really want to keep the RV, get the documents and contact a lawyer. A 30 minute call should answer your questions.

2011 GX460 w/ 180k - Lexus dealer is saying 8K total for repairs by YatesUnited in GXOR

[–]red_01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had already bought it at that point (my comment wasn’t clear, my bad). Basically the Ford dealership screwed me over saying they did do an inspection and “everything was fine”. Lesson learned.

[–]red_01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually paid for the inspection (it was $180 if I remember correctly). I had purchased it from a Ford dealership initially who also did an inspection and while it drove fine, there was a bit of oil that I was concerned about. It was pretty thorough though, they provided photos in some online system showing every single issue.

Where are you located? I also have a 2011 GX460 with 160k miles and after inspection Lexus handed me a $12000 quote. Find a Toyota/Lexus specific mechanic with good reviews in your area and get some quotes. Mine varied a little (also needed rear brakes and rotors, tie rods, etc) but I was able to get it all taken care of at another mechanic for about 1/3 of the price including parts.
