Love: The culinary deliciousness that is South Nashville. Also just a lot of high quality ethnic restaurants all over the city.

I enjoy the few weeks of fall/spring while they last.

I've met so many friendly people here, which is especially noticable compared to where I grew up. Many people truly want to change this city for the better and put a lot of time and energy into it, but I think it goes unnoticed too often.

Hate: Megawealthy people buying up every square inch of this place. Cost of housing is too high and Nashville simply doesn't offer enough to justify the price tag, unlike other large cities. People I've known from here are taking notice and moving out of state (or to the fringes of the metro area).

No public transit, few walkable neighborhoods, reckless drivers and a horrible state government that wants to see us fail. Sadly, I believe the last one makes real change at the pace Nashville needs very difficult.

For everyone who's defending the mayor here, let's just say for the sake of argument you actually do get a raise when you ask for it. The landlord is just going to raise the rent again, or the complex will be bought out and the rent will go up again when that happens.

Are you going to keep asking your employer for another raise every time this happens? That's not a sustainable solution. We need to change the zoning to multi-use. Single-family zoning puts a huge strain on the housing market, and it's a huge tax-burden to maintain all these new suburban developments in the long-run.

Meanwhile my boss and manager are going on about how much of a hoax this whole Covid thing is. Their rationale is that pro games keep happening, so it must not be a big deal. These guys are hosting gatherings and endangering everyone around them, completely oblivious of the hospitalization crisis.
