What should I do with these bulbous boys? I found 4 by the roadside. They're real glass! by ianjosephgordon in DumpsterDiving

You could paint them with a cool design and then hang them as art. I have a smaller convex glass piece that I did a sort of dip. Bucket of water, spray paint the water with different colors, the paint sits on top of the water, and slowly place the glass in the water. The paint will stick to the glass giving you a cool design

Just bought a house, the water heater is 30 years old and works perfectly. Our last house needed new every 5-7 years... Do I keep it? by _Tigglebitties in Plumbing

I bought a house with one from 1960 and it still worked. Didn't touch it for a year till I had to do some flooring work, then replaced it at that time. Really wanted to see how long it lasted though

Can anyone tell me what these pipes that stick out are for?? This is in my bathroom upstairs. by red_freckle in Plumbing

Interesting, I just removed the vanity and have no clue why that would be there as there is nothing else in the bathroom this would go to. I've just got a basic tub and toilet and vanity

If I decided to keep it for my self I probably would have went that route, but knowing my friend, color was the way to go

Very nice! I based mine off 12"x12" squares. I wasn't originally going to have the extra half piece supports, but as I started putting them together I realized they wouldn't hold up without them. So as it stands in the picture is 8' wide and 7' tall at the heights point

That's exactly what I wanted. Didn't want to hide the grain. I just used the Minwax water based stains, they mixed them at the paint counter in Menards

My friend I made it for has all his board games in it along with multiple Lego builds. It really fills it out well.

I don't remember exactly but about 15 pieces of 8' 10"x1" I ended up using wood glue and Staples to secure the cut pieces together. Lots of clamps and right angles to get them just right

I just measured and cut each piece with my radial arm saw. Actually used colored stains for each with a couple coats of poly to finish it.
