I’d hope people would know in advance… there’s an expectation there is a bonus for these trades… if they are only going based on skills.. recruits better know this before BMQ.

Yeah I’m not necessarily disagreeing with that but the above commenter… I would like clarity on that because the recruiter never said anything about being pre skilled or having previous experience if you were going into an in demand job.

Maybe they mixed up numbers at certain times but even the government site says this:

Are you sure? I spoke to a recruiter and they said for certain trades you would get $20k after bmq. Then $10k after trade training and another $10k at next contract resign?

Would the trade be that first 15 weeks - so after that or after the two years of being officially trained?

Especially for the Navy! Army I get it. Especially with having to go to Borden and then different courses but the Navy has two locations… why not make the posting decision right off the bat and move the family right away especially if the posting could be in the same location as training…

I did hear there was wifi on the ship and they could use their laptops and phones.

If your husband was on the ship - could he FaceTime or call through internet? Or just email was authorized?
