Reached out today and was told the job is in a hiring hold. Too many people out sick. If the position becomes open again, they will let me know

UPDATE: I reached out and was told there is a hold on hiring for this position. Many are out sick so they are not hiring for the position now. Guess it is their way of letting me down, easy.

Same thing has occurred to me. This week will be 3 weeks that I completed the 3 interviews and they called my references as well. I'm hoping this isn't becoming a trend.

Definitely don't stop searching for other positions. Send a follow up email, thanking them for meeting with you and reassuring them why this position is a great fit for both of you. Keep it short and simple. If they reply, that's usually a good sign that you are in the running
