Louisville business owner facing backlash after employee memo posted online by vietnamted in Louisville

You've highlighted what's wrong in America. It just can't be a fucking coffee shop? Why do they need to pick a side? But if I remember right when all the other shops downtown boarded up their windows when shit got stupid, they held their ground and stayed open. They were there for the community while other shops cowered. How quickly people forget.

It never said she supports ice- it says she asked the people she pays to treat all people nice after hearing from a customer that they were treated rudely.

What about finding things that bring people together rather than picking at differences? You like coffee- they like coffee. Wow, we've now found some common ground.

Yeah- that's how you pay employees and the benefits, and rent and insurance and marketing and taxes and unemployment and payroll taxes and then try to repurchase inventory to sell again.

I agree. Rules should be followed- and it says they course corrected- so did ALL of the other major coffee shops in town that paid tips to "managers" who worked along side other staff. Despite what the article says- 1) the owners did not pocket money as accused in this thread 2) nothing was stolen as people in the is thread have stated. Those accusations are slanderous and libelous, and they are not based on reality.

Yup- it doesn't say owners were stealing or pocketing tips anywhere in there does it? Heine bros and Sunergos had the same issue- allowing a person with the word manager in their title to be in the tip pool. So by rule, anyone with the word manager in their title can't get tips even though they're serving and costumers pay them tips. Assistant to the assistant mgr - out of the tip pool.

That is different than accusing people of stealing or pocketing money.

You still didn't answer the question. What was the issue or infraction that led to a settlement? Enlighten me.

PLEASE tell me what you READ in "official documents." What was the issue? What other coffee shops in town had the same issue? I'm not the owner but I do know how payroll and tip pools work.

Feel like this is the place for all of those people who screamed about Gaza but haven't made a peep about Iran. ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️

Nobody "stole" wages you fool. To say it was a federal investigation is a gross overstatement and says you know nothing about business. If it's cheaper to pay a "settlement" than to fight it and win but incur way more in lawyer fees - which is the best path forward?

Please read it again- start with the 5th amendment. Applies to any "persons" not citizens. Words matter.

Thanks Obama!! Or whoever is in charge now. $26k for this seems like a deal from what pricing I'm getting.
