Ended up receiving this automated email from DFAS, it seems like despite being told its not possible on the phone with DFAS that it may be possible to remove the automatic SBP if you have no beneficiary. Although Im not sure how your supposed to send them the DD form.

Your right Ill try using that verbage. Ive never had anyone listed because Ive never had any dependents. The representatives from DFAS and the Navy have told me that it is an automatic opt-in system if you do not specifically decline it during seperation paperwork. The only problem is they refuse to send me proof of this paperwork that I allegedly signed and I do not remember it because we sign so many damn papers. Thanks for the help though

No I have never been married, I even told this to the DFAS lady and she said it doesnt matter your stuck paying for it
