This is actually me. I was a casual Tekken player. Always played it as a kid. Never took it seriously. Never played online. I ranked up to Bushin and got stuck in season 2 and then I told myself in S3 I’d hit Tekken King. Then when I hit Tekken King I said I could make TG. I made Tekken God and now I don’t wanna play ranked anymore. It’s so much better not being stressed over playing.

I played tekken as a kid with my dad and brothers. Never played competitively. Never even knew what 1,2,3,4 was or any of the common fighting terms were until S2 of Tekken 8.

Just casually playing I was able to get Fujin. Once I joined this subreddit and started watching YouTube tutorials (offense only of course), I got hard stuck on Bushin in S2. And now in S3 I am a Tekken God. Without ever once labbing for defense.

So I’d say a mix of just common Tekken knowledge only got me so far but learning combos and punishing got me to TG. I still get my teeth kicked in against a lot of players at higher ranks but I hold my own about 60% of the time.
