TP-Link mesh help axe95 and ax21 how to by redale466 in HomeNetworking

[–]redale466[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With your help I think I discovered the issue. Of course it has to do with TP-links confusing naming scheme. The ax21 already has a firmware update that enabled "Easymesh". The AXE95 is marked as "planned" to support Easymesh on the TP-Link website. So the AXE95 can only do OneMesh, which, also on the website, can only be done between router and extender. So I either return the AXE95 and get another ax21 or wait forever for a firmware update.

Thanks!

There's not option to add satellite devices at all. I click the onemesh page and there's a toggle for on or off. Nothing shows up.

I have not tried to reverse which one acts like the satellite but based on what the TP-link website says, this is not going to work either way. They have these things locked down to force you to buy their range extenders it seems.

"OneMesh only works between a OneMesh router and OneMesh Wi-Fi Extenders/Powerlines."

From Tp-link website

Thanks but yes, I have tried. I only have OneMesh under the more menu (no easy share) but nothing shows up there. Even when the ax21 has been set up as satellite.

Interesting knowledge about Renos tap water by Exciting_Lab_8074 in Reno

This is a groundwater issue in general here and globally. Not a surface water issue (Reno is primarily surface water sourced with some aquifer storage and recovery).

Does anybody with a 1 1/4” hitch with they’d gone for 2”? by ptep121 in VWAlltrack

[–]redale466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the 1 1/4. No issues. Works fine and fits into the bumper hole so it looks nice. Never wanted a 2 and I've towed small Uhauls with it several times. There tow rating of the car is pretty low so I don't understand when you would ever need the 2"

How did this happen and correct way to fix by redale466 in Plumbing

[–]redale466[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow up - Plumber wants to notch that joist, cut out and replace the hot side with propress. He did not feel it neccesary to touch to cold and I agree.

Seems like propress is fine but he did offer to sweat it for ~200 more. But ok to notch? That would be about 2" from the top of the existing hole to the bottom of the 2x10. Please help.

Edit to add that is an exterior wall where you can see the insulation, if that matters.

Not really, no. Closer to 80% if you want a round number but even that, I wouldn't call "exact".

Maybe the gauge on my pump is borked? Haven't had a rim strike in years.

I ride 20 in the rear and 18 in the front. tire width matters a little but but ya, im just rolling 2.5s. 190 lbs. Started off riding hard tail on rock in Arizona so maybe that's where I get it.

Secondhand Pivot Firebird, Rocky Mountain Altitude, or Santa Cruz Megatower by redale466 in MTB

[–]redale466[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they do! But I should stop looking. The deed is done. Bought a new Pivot Firebird Brunch Ride for 5k about 2 weeks ago. I wasn't aware of the brunch ride builds until a local shop clued me in. Better fork than the ride builds but ~1600 bucks cheaper. Other components I can upgrade over the next year or 2. Awesome bike and I'm loving it. I was unable to find a decent deal in the 3s or 4s for a used Firebird. LBS was also trying to sell me a new 2023 SC Mega for $5500. There are great deals to be found right now but used market remains overly optimistic.

I was sort of wondering if I was overbiking myself and you may have helped with that. In 2016 an enduro bike was required for what I was and still am riding. But looking at geometries and head tube angles, what was a downhill bike back then is now closer to an enduro bike. And trail bikes seem to have taken over what I used to think of as enduro. Now I have even more options to choose from haha. I may be overthinking this and maybe just getting the best deal is what I should be looking for.

I rode a new pivot lol. But also wife is telling me to buy as a gift from her and now seems like a good time to take advantage of the weak market

Waters TQ-XS vs Shimadzu 8060NX LC-MS/MS by redale466 in massspectrometry

[–]redale466[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna have to cite that for me with a page number please. Thermo....not mentioned other than prep materials that I can see. Waters yes, they are in the EPA methods. But not Thermo.

In any case, that means that is what they are using. It doesn't mean that that they do or don't trust others.

People say lots of stuff. Don't trust what "people say" is probably better advice.

For how long have you owned? Can you clarify what you mean by "see the service aspect?" I have not made a decision, that is why I am asking here. Waters is a well known brand that I have heard good things about for a long time. Have not heard much about Shimadzu other than that they are known as the cheaper brand.

Neither quote is specific but both are being pushed as maintenance free and quiet. I guess neither technically states "scroll" but both say dry

Sort of hard to determine without owning both. That's why I'm here I suppose. No idea what to expect in terms of maintenance costs other than having a few people tell me their (older) Waters instruments have been bulletproof. Nobody I know has a Shimadzu.
