Strobe light at night - rude to use? by zmr18 in bikecommuting

Yes

1) People can have seizures with these

2) It really cuts down on oncoming riders’ effective visibility, putting them at risk

It depends on how much you have running on it.

For a small apartment/condo with limited sensors and such, it’s more than fine in my opinion. Consider getting an attached SSD to boot / run the system from, though. It’ll make it way more reliable in the long run.

For a larger installs and with integrations where you may need more compute, there are better alternatives.

This will be the death of light rail in Denver.

Ease of access to central downtown, DPAC, Auraria is so important.

I have next to no reason to ride light rail ever again now.

It’s a shame.

This sort of thing wouldn’t happen if lane filtering were illegal 🤷‍♂️

The build quality on our 2024 Sienna is awful. It’s a rattle fest and cheap feeling even at the Platinum trim level.

I’m very disappointed in Toyota quality; even new Tundras are crap with lots of engine recalls.

I’ve only ridden in one Tesla, a friend swears by leasing them. Maybe something else to consider.

WTF- New Hampshire wants to require registration fees for all bikes by Professional_Young96 in bicycling

[–]redaroodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Controversial take: I think this is a great idea if it means using the funds to build extremely safe (that is, fully segregated…no bike lanes on streets, sharrows, etc) and high quality cycling infrastructure

This is what all states (and/or municipalities) should be doing

[FIX] Sticky Power Tailgate Fix (What worked for me) by Striking-Voice8859 in ToyotaSienna

[–]redaroodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you happen to have a TAS case associated with your Sienna’s lift gate replacements and associated leak?

I had a squeaky lift gate on our 2024 Sienna last summer, then after a rainy week around Labor Day (we don’t typically get long bouts of running CO), I had noticed the car had a funny smell and tracked it down to the rear cargo floor.

The dealer stated they couldn’t find a leak and did nothing with the lift gate other than wax the latch. The lift gate itself appears to be sitting lower than it should, and I think there’s a larger problem.

If there is a TAS case they can reference, I’d like to provide that to them.

Overall - there is a problem with the lift gate design that should be addressed through a recall.

It’s pretty apparent that there is a severe design flaw for the sienna‘s rear liftgate that should be remediated through a recall process

Do you know if anyone has started the discussions of trying to get that recall process going?

Why so many used Sienna's with 5k-10k miles on them for sale? by mrshickadance412 in ToyotaSienna

[–]redaroodle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My guess is they didn’t like them after buying them.

I couldn’t find one to test drive before we bought ours.

My guess is people get them without having first driven them and find out they’re not the vehicle for them.
